Background
The National institute for Medical Research (NIMR) is a public health research institution in Tanzania, established by the Parliament Act No. 23 of 1979 as a parastatal organization Under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare with a mission to conduct, coordinate, regulate and promote scientifically and ethically sound, high quality health research and deliver evidence-based information that is responsive to the needs of human well being
The Institute is looking for qualified dynamic and motivated Tanzanian candidates to fill the following posts

Research Scientist II- 3 posts

Holders Of a minimum of an Upper Second Class degree in medicine
OR social sciences.
A working experience of at least two (2}years in research working in a reputable institution

Duties and Responsibilities
Processing and analyzing results and data, communicating results via published papers and paper presentation in scientific conferences collaborating with industry/academia to apply the results of research and develop new scientific techniques
carrying out field work to inform research, teaching, supervising students (in academia). training and supervising other members of staff;
devising or helping in developing new research proposals and applying for funding and grants;
working in multi disciplinary teams, in different departments in the Institute
Perform any other related duty as assigned by supervisor
