The Tobacco Research Institute of Tanzania (TORITA) is one of the research institutes under the Ministry of Agriculture Food Security and Cooperatives. It is the only tobacco research institute in East Africa mandated to promote, implement and carry out research related on agronomy, breeding, plant protection, environmental conservation, tobacco curing barns, improving crop quality and productivity. Its mandates also entail development and dissemination of appropriate technologies to the tobacco growing community for improved productivity to support the tobacco sector goals in social-economic development of the country.
The Head Office is located at Tumbi area, some 16 kilometers off Tabora Municipal Town center along the road leading to Urambo and has the research substation at Mtanila in Chunya, Mbeya.
The institute is implementing strategic plan linkage with medium term plan and expenditure framework for the coming five years and therefore would like to recruit 7 competent Tanzania citizens in the following posts;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Typing open and confidential reports, letters and memoranda and documents
Receives and guides visitors
Keeps appointment records
Takes dictation
Makes sure that all work is done accurately within the required time
Facilitates internal and internal telecommunications
Perform other related duties as may be assigned by Supervisors
QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of a Certificate of Secondary Education
Examination (CSEE)/Advanced Certificate of
Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with certificate in Secretarial course from a recognized Institution with passes in English and Kiswahili and typing speed of 50 w.p.m; manuscript and tabulation stage III, Secretarial' duties and office practice stage II, English or
Kiswahili shorthand speed of 80 w.p.m computer operating certificate in Ms-(Office)
Windows Platform, word processing, use of data spread sheets/excel
