Mechanical Technician (Somanga Gas Plant) POSITION DESCRIPTION

Mechanical Technician 1 Post
Reports to: Maintenance Engineer
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for efficient running of engine and its auxiliaries fit the plant through maintenance and repair on mechanical equipment.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
He/ She will be responsible for:
• Preparation of plant preventive maintenance schedules, including both short term and long term plans like overhauls, rehabilitation, upgrades and modifications.
• Performs minor 'and major maintenance, adjustments and repairs on \ mechanical equipment including pumps.
• Conduct thoroughly daily inspection of generating sets and their accessories and report to maintenance Supervisor for any defects and carry out remedies.
• Carry out visual inspection of equipment and instruments and to report any faults and defects.
• Proper keeping of working tools
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor in preparing daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• To restore system in the shortest possible time during the system/plant fault outages.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Form IV/VI Secondary Certificate
• FTC/Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering certificate from a recognized Institution.
REMUNERATION
An attractive compensation package based on performance and commensurate with the responsibility wilt apply to the successful candidates.
NB: Employment terms for the post of Electrician is three months contract renewable upon successful performance.
