RTI International is accepting applications from qualified staff for the USAID/ Tanzania Tusome Pamoja Program (2016- 2021) in Tanzania. The 5-year program is assisting the Ministry of Education to replicate and scale up reading, writing and arithmetic improvement interventions in schools with an emphasis on curriculum and materials development for Grades 1-4 in Swahili and English. On behalf of the USAID/Tanzania, RTI is working with the regional, district, and ward personnel to implement reading, writing, and arithmetic reforms in four mainland regions of the country and Zanzibar, with support given to approximately 3000 public primary schools in the selected regions.
Additionally, Tusome Pamoja is implementing activities to engage communities and parents to further the goals of improved student learning outcomes.
We are accepting expression of interests (CV/Resumes) for the following positions:
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer to be based in Ruvuma
Core Responsibilities:
Support and participate in the development and implementation of the program monitoring and evaluation plan; generate, store and retrieve education information related to Tusome Pamoja Program: and facilitate the transfer of knowledge across the program, MoEST, MoEVT, Regions, Districts, and Schools.
S/he will ensure smooth follow of information across all levels in support of program implementation.
S/he will support program monitoring, assessments and evaluations, development and maintenance of School Information Systems (SIS) and Information Databases for the program.
The position is also responsible for building capacity and supporting M&E and SIS activities at Region, District, and School Levels.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree with at least 6 years of experience in data collection and evaluation activities, particularly in school or community settings. Or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
Some background/knowledge of literacy, School level data collection and Early Grade Reading Assessment Development and Administration.
Expert skills in Excel spreadsheets, as well as Word. Excellent spoken and written in English and Kiswahili skills are required.
