Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation-Tanzania (Baylor-Tanzania) is a non-
government organization (NGO) dedicated to supporting the provision of high- quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and treatment to HIV- exposed and -infected children and adolescents in the Lake and Southern Highlands Zones of Tanzania through service delivery, training and research. Baylor-Tanzania is part of the Baylor College of Medicine International Pediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI) Clinical Centres of Excellence Network, which is headquartered at Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, Texas, USA. Through collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children.
Baylor-Tanzania is looking for highly motivated, well-qualified individual to join its growing program team under USAID – Mtoto Bomba project. Baylor – Tanzania is hereby invites applications from suitable qualified Tanzanian to fill the following position:


Title: TB/HIV case Manager
Reports To: HTS Coordinator
Department: Technical and Clinical Services
Duty Station: Mbeya/Mwanza, Tanzania
Classification: Full-time, contract (2 Years renewable)

Position Summary:
To provide TB/HIV support services to children and their care providers at COE and Community level Duties and Responsibilities
  • To provide basic assessment and triage i.e. monitoring and recording vital signs, growth and development monitoring; including weight and height assessment using plotted growth charts
  • To oversee and support pediatric HIV testing at the zonal referral hospital
  • Perform investigations forTB suspects (sputum induction &TST)
  • Assist the TB focal group in performing HIV testing and counseling forTB suspects at COE and community
  • Supervise XTB/MDR treatment clubs for children and adolescent receiving both DOT and anti-TB maintenance drugs
  • Assist the TB focal group in orienting community health service providers onTB screening and contact tracing
  • To support patients and their caregivers by providing information aboutTB/HIV/AIDS and helping them to solve problem to optimize their care and treatment through individual counseling and health talks
  • Conduct home visits for contact tracing and collection of sputum samples
  • To participate in TB/Malnutrition screening activities including supervising community groups, mentoring of health care providers at other facilities
  • Participate in different research activities at COE
  • Participate in preparing work plans, budget, and implementation of different activities in the TB focal group
  • Other duties as assigned by Nurse-in-charge and Zonal program Manager
Qualifications / Skills
  • Registered or enrolled nurse
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work in team
  • Counseling skills
