Position Summary
IHI is looking for a Mathematical Modeler to fill a vacant position in the COSMIC project. The Mathematical Modeler will be responsible for using available data to develop two health system mathematical models reflecting the effects of health financial reforms in Tanzania. 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review available data/transcripts/literature and plans for mathematical modeling.
  • Evaluate health system responses to health care financing reforms.
  • Develop two complementary health system models in Tanzania, a System Dynamic Model (SDM) and an agent-based model (ABM).
  • Conduct validation and simulation of models.
  • Participate in data analysis and report writing.
  • Write descriptions of mathematical models.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the PI.

Qualification and Experience
  • Master’s degree in Mathematical science.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with model development and mathematical modeling methods.
  • Experience in research and data analysis.
  • Experience in health system reforms, particularly in the area of finance.

  • Fluent in both English and Kiswahili Languages.
