Since the organization began operating in Tanzania in 1994 and prior to that in Pemba
since 1986, the organization has grown tremendously and now operates throughout the country. With it’s head office in Dar es Salaam, with regional offices in Lindi, Shinyanga and Zanzibar.
Save the Children Tanzania works on seven thematic areas: Child Protection, Health, Nutrition, Child Rights Governance, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods, and Emergencies. Policy influencing and advocacy, gender, HIV/AIDS are other areas, which contribute to the current programming.
