1. ASSISTANT LECTURER (2 POSTS)
1.1. Qualifications

  • Master‘s degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and control Engineering or its equivalent with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 at Master’s level and minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 in the first degree.

2. ACCOUNTANT (1 POSTS)

2.1. Qualifications and Personal Attributes required

  • Holder of Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, intermediate stage (both module C and D), professional level II or equivalent qualification plus ICT skills.
  • Excellent English, written and oral communications skills;
  • Knowledge in Computer application packages.



2.2. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly trial balance and bank reconciliation statements.
  • Prepare monthly salaries and related returns
  • Maintain debtors and creditors records
  • Recording and banking of Revenue Collections
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly and annual financial statements of Revenue and Expenditure
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor

3. ADMISSION OFFICER II (1 POST)

3.1. Qualification and Personal Attributes required

  • Holder of Bachelor Degree in Education, Statistics or equivalent qualification plus ICT skills.
  • Excellent English, written and oral communications skills.
  • Knowledge in Computer application packages.



3.2. Key Responsibilities

  • Implement admission policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Responsible for registration of students.
  • Make correspondences regarding admission matters.
  • Receive and processes admission applications.
  • Responsible for planning, co-coordinating, directing and controlling students’ admission matters.
  • Keep proper records of all students’ admission matters.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by Supervisor.

4. ARTISAN II (1 POST)

4.1. Qualification and Personal Attributes required

  • Holder of Form IV or Form VI certificate with Trade Test Grade I/Level III in computer studies/ICT or equivalent qualification.


4.2. Key Responsibilities

  • Install PCs and peripherals
  • Provide technical support for PCs and related peripheral equipment
  • Document and communicate problems, solutions and the implementation process to supervisor
  • Perform simple coding of raw data on source documents by applying established clearly defined codes
  • Maintain operations, system development and/or programming documentation manual libraries
  • Assist ICT Technician in finding source documents and solutions for identified manual libraries.
  • Assist in operational repairs of computers and accessories
  • Report computer maintenance problems to senior staff
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor

5. DRIVER II (3 POSTS)

5.1. Qualification and Personal Attributes required

  • Holder of Secondary Education Certificate with passes in Kiswahili and English having a valid Class C, C1 to C3, D and E driving License and working experience of not less than 3 years. Trade Test Grade III/Level I certificate in Motor Vehicle Maintenance/Mechanics is an added advantage.


5.2. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive University vehicles
  • Maintain and records vehicle logbooks
  • Responsible for safe-keeping of the vehicle and tools entrusted to him/her
  • Maintain disciplined behaviour and proper conduct in rendering services to his/her assignees.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and tools
  • Report promptly any defect or problems detected in the vehicle
  • Dispatch or collect documents/letters
  • Make some minor repairs of vehicles
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor

6. INSTRUCTOR II (3 POSTS)

6.1. Qualification and Personal Attributes required

  • Holder of Bachelor Degree / Advanced Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering relevant field.
  • Demonstrates the potential of being good Instructor



6.2. Key Responsibilities

  • Teache up to NTA level 6 and may assist teaching in higher NTA levels
  • Conduct examinations and submits results
  • Conduct and supports research and consultancy works
  • Prepare learning resources
  • Supervise and assist junior staff and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor

7. LABORATORY TECHNICIAN II (1 POST)

7.1. Qualification and Personal Attributes required

  • Holder of Diploma (NTA 6) in food science and technology or relevant fields


7.2. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out specified tasks related to laboratory practical, students projects, research, consultancy and services under supervision
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of laboratory facilities
  • Assist senior staff in relevant fields of laboratory operations
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor

8. SECRETARY II (1 POST)

8.1. Qualification and Personal Attributes required

  • Holder of Form IV certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili plus certificate in secretarial studies with 100/120 w.p.m. shorthand in
  • English or Kiswahili and 50 w.p.m. typing, tabulation and manuscript stage III, secretarial courses and office procedure stage II and has
  • completed word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, email and publisher courses from a recognized institution



8.2. Key Responsibilities

  • Type all general correspondence and non-confidential matters
  • Type letters, minutes, notices, bulletins, circulars, certificates, charts and stencils
  • Print reports, letters etc.
  • Handle office files
  • File copies of typed letters in relevant files
  • Attend telephone calls and takes messages
  • Record incoming and outgoing files
  • Ensure that the respective office is punctually opened
  • Receive and directs visitors
  • Make sure that there are all necessary facilities for proper job performance
  • Takes proper care of all facilities under his/her charge and makes sure that they are used for official uses only

9.1. Qualification and Personal Attributes required

  • Holder of Bachelor degree majoring in Computer Science or Information and Communication Technology, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering and any other relevant field.



9.2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in capturing user Customer Requirement Specifications- CRS
  • Perform systems analysis and design
  • Design, install and configure LAN and WAN infrastructure;
  • Review LAN and WAN architecture;
  • Participate in iterative development with users;
  • Create and produce multimedia content;
  • Manage multimedia tools and equipment;
  • Test web pages;
  • Update and manage web site;
  • Design, develop, implement and test Database;
  • Develop back and front-end connectivity;
  • Ensure software patches are implemented timely;
  • Install, configure, and update antivirus software;
