Education Sector Response to Early Pregnancy and to Child Marriage : A Review of Country Policies and Programs in West and Central Africa in Senegal
General objective: Better understand the education sector response to early pregnancy and to child marriage in 12 selected countries in West and Central Africa Specific objectives: • Provide an analysis and mapping of the institutional environment in the education sector - highlighting both supportive and challenging features - regarding early pregnancy and child marriage • Identify current programmatic interventions in the education sector which are implemented with a view to responding to early pregnancy and child marriage, and highlight lessons learnt and good practices • Identify existing data and evidence on teenage pregnancy, child marriage and school exclusion in selected countries as well as regionally and globally, and identify knowledge gaps that warrant further research in the region • Identify key elements that should form part of a regional strategy on addressing the prevention and response to teenage pregnancy and child marriage in the education sector
