Training (PST) activities in Muheza, Korogwe, Dodoma and Morogoro during PST Implementation for specific period. S/he will be responsible for basic Peace Corps vehicle maintenance; Drive Staff, Volunteers, Trainees and other Peace Corps guests. S/he will frequently be called upon to assist with logistics and support of trainees, as well as other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities Include:
- Safely drive staff, volunteers and guests in official Peace Corps Tanzania vehicles; obey all traffic laws; only drive vehicles which have been checked and cleared as road worthy; and accurately log all vehicle trips in Vehicle Log Books.
- Ensure adequate fuel, supplies and resources for all trips.
- Ensure the security of Peace Corps vehicles by locking vehicles and parking vehicles in secure areas. r.
- Perform daily/weekly mechanic checks as per checklist for all assigned vehicles.
- Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs and troubleshooting.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Training Manager and/or his/her appointee.
Minimum Qualifications
Form Four Certificate with class C driving license; Mechanics Certificate from a recognized institution – Trade Test I or II and above; relevant driving experience of at least 4 years with a clean record are required. Proven knowledge of roads and towns throughout Tanzania; good spoken English; ability to work with minimal supervision; Training in motor vehicle mechanics; ability to work well within a team; prior experience working with NGOs is desirable; at least 2 years’ experience working with an International Organization preferable.
