For efficient execution of its duties, Pact Tanzania is looking for enthusiastic, creative, energetic individuals to fill the following internship positions:


Internship Title: Economic Strengthening Intern

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reporting To: Economic Strengthening Advisor

To provide support around engagement of all savings and lending groups, linkages to external credit and money management skills to OVC caregivers.

Specific Duties:

  • Work with M&E senior officers to update information and data around savings and lending groups such as no. of groups; caregivers; values of savings, OVC, and social fund
  • Provide support on training preparation such as follow up on printing and as well as proof reading and formatting as part of preparation of materials
  • Collect and compile a summary of all monthly reports on all indicator and targets for Result 1 at Cluster level (this will be a basis for data triangulation with what is within the database at National level)
  • Collect and compile a summary of all supportive supervision to VSLGs reports from Cluster level and share with ESA for follow up
  • To closely monitor progress in achievement of targets set for the quarter by reviewing the monthly reports submitted
  • To organize all WORTH Yetu materials and other training materials under result 1 in both the drop box and shared drive
  • To act as a secretary or rapporteur for all meetings within the ES team
  • Work with the M&E officer to start to upload on the savings groups MIS http://mis.thesavix.org/p:en/index.html 10% of all WORTH Yetu groups data and information
  • To compile the challenges from field around implementation, M & E and reporting; and share them with the ESA for review and problem solving
  • To collect all improvement comments on such tools as well as guides as they are piloted or starting to be utilized by Clusters
  • To provide an update on income generation or enterprise pilots that have been initiated because of the livelihoods and market assessment
  • To initiate and follow-up, as instructed, all requests on behalf of the ESA such as procurement
  • To monitor the roll out of Selling Made Simple for both new and established WORTH Yetu groups
  • Perform any other related duties allotted by the ES Advisor

The intern should have at least a Bachelor in Economics, Economic Development or related and relevant field coupled with:
  • At least 2 years of supporting community savings and lending groups OR similar community development role
  • Excellent writing skills – MS Word as well as Excel (Power point an added advantage)
  • Highly organized
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)

Internship Title:  Cluster Finance Interns

Location:Mwanza, Tabora, Songea, Dodoma, Mbeya and Dar es Salaam
Reports to:  Cluster Accountant

Specific Duties:

·         Assist Cluster Accountants in reviewing monthly financial reports against sub grantee budget, program report and deliverables as well as supporting documentation to check for allowability, allocability and reasonability.
·         Assist Cluster Accountant in Conducting site visits to provide grants and financial management technical assistance and document site visits findings and issues
·         Assist Cluster Accountant in Preparing liquidation report of assigned grantees after review, verification of expenses and work with grantees to resolve outstanding issues.
·         Assist in reviewing of CSOs advance requests
·         Assist in arranging all documents received from Sub grantees
·         Daily Support and Monitoring of Sub grantees on all Financial & Grants Management Aspects including internal controls and Fraud Management.
·         Carry out other Finance related duties assigned by the Grants Finance Officer.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Advance Diploma or Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Well knowledgeable with excel
  • Fast learner
  • Should be a resident of the cluster s/he is applying for
