ACCOUNTANT TRAINEE

Description of the mission:
As accountant trainee, you will work alongside the Assistant Accountant and/or Regional Financial Manager to ensure safety and efficient utilisation of the financial resources of the company through expenditure planning and control and cash management within the finance and accounting policy and regulations of the company.Upon successful completion of the traineeship program, you have the chance to begin your career within the ACE Global Depository in the Accounts department as Assistant Accountant. You will be responsible for:
  1. Preparation of monthly financial reports, including balance sheet, departmental P&L account vs. budget and cash forecast. Provide comparisons of actual job expenditure with projected costs. Provide management with projections of jobs costs and controlling and counter-signing all documents such as quotations, client proposals and any other aspects affecting the financial performance of the company. Ad hoc financial planning exercises as may be required.
  2. Ensuring correct authorization of payments and that payment are in line with established budgets and the financial policy. Maintain all subsidiary ledgers to retail control of assets of the company.
  3. Daily recording of cash and bank transactions, including the management of current balances to ensure that payments are possible on due dates. Weekly statement to the respective contract managers of details of all outstanding invoices on their accounts and the period outstanding.
  4. Keeping of proper books of accounts, prepare daily, monthly and annual financial reports, bank and cash transactions and all financial transactions of the company.
  5. Monitor and analyse variances; provide financial cost and expenditure audit and analysis as required for correct and efficient management of the company.
  6. Invoice clients and follow up remittances; and receive Bank Company/ cheques.
  7. Ensuring timely preparation and submission of tax returns and their due payment.
Role requirements:
As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and competencies:
  • University graduate in accounting, finance and other related fields
  • Practical experience in accounting software
  • Proven ability in performing office and field accounting duties.
