The Arusha Technical College (ATC) is an autonomous institution established by the
Government Notice No. 78 of 30th March 2007 that replaced by then Technical College Arusha that existed since 1978. The vision of ATC is to be a centre of excellence in training, research and consultancy in science and technology in Africa by 2020. In order to fulfill its functions properly, the College is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced Tanzanians to fill in the following vacancies:


1.0 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT – 1 POST
1.I Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to NTA level 7 (Higher Diploma);
  • Assists in conducting tutorial and practical exercises for students under close supervision;
  • Prepares learning resources for tutorial exercises;
  • Assists in conducting research under close supervision;
  • Carries out consultancy and community services under close supervision; and
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.


1.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Department of Electrical Engineering
Holder of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a minimum G.P.A of 3.5 from any reputable/recognized institution.
Knowledge or attendance to Biomedical Engineering Subjects is an added advantage

1.3 REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the College Salary Scale PHTS 1.1

2.0 INSTRUCTOR II – 2 POSTS
2.1 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teaches up to NTA level 6 and may assist teaching in higher NTA levels;
  • Administers examinations for NTA level 6 students;
  • Conducts and supports research and consultancy works;
  • Prepares learning resources;
  • Supervises field training;
  • Supervises and assists junior staff; and
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.


2.2 QUALIFICATION

  • Department of Electrical Engineering
  • Holder of Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Renewable Energy with a minimum G.P.A of 3.5 from any reputable/ recognized institution.


2.3 REMUNERATION

  • Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the College Salary Scale PTSS 10.1


3.0 DRIVER II – 2 POSTS
3.1 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Driving of motor vehicles, cars, pick ups and lorries as may be assigned;
  • Ensuring motor vehicles and their accessories are in good condition;
  • Making some minor repairs;
  • Maintaininga nd recording log sheets (books) for all journeys made
  • Reporting promptly any defects or problems detected in the vehicles
  • Maintaining disciplined behavior and proper conduct in rendering services to his/her assignees
  • Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor.


3.2 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Holder of Certificate in Secondary Education (Form IV) plus class “C” driving licence and Trade Test Grade II (Auto-mechanics) or NVA Level II Certificate.


3.3 REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the College Salary Scale PGSS 2.1

4.0 RECORDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT II – 1 POST
4.1 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives all incoming mails and enters them in the relevant registers;
  • Opens registered letters;
  • Maintains up-to date register of files and file index books;
  • Gives file numbers to file searchers;
  • Reviews pending correspondence and listing files required for filling;
  • Records all outgoing registered correspondence and telegrams;
  • Dispatches mail going straight to campuses, departments, mail clearing centre and Post office in time according to instructions, classification and current dispatch timetables of mail clearing centre and Post Office;
  • Assembles flimsy copies and files them for circulation to listed Officers;
  • Performs any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Supervisor.


4.2 QUALIFICATION
Holders of Form IV or Form VI Certificate of Secondary Education with a pass in English and Swahili at “O” level plus a Diploma in Records Management from a reputable and recognized institution.

4.3 REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the College Salary Scale PGSS 3.1
