The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global leader in the fight against
pediatric HIV and AIDS, working in 19 countries and supporting close to 6,000 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children, and to facilitate access to services for those already infected. Today, because of the highly successful work of the Foundation and its partners, pediatric AIDS has been virtually eliminated in the United States. Position Details
Job title: Temporary Research Coordinators (8 post)

Duration:
Temporary contract from 1 September 2017 to 31 March 2018, with possibility of extension (up to by less than 1 year total) for selected. Estimated required working days within this period from 100-120.

Location:   Shinyanga, Tabora, Dodoma, Arusha, Kilimanjaro.

EGPAF is implementing several research and evaluation activities that require support in data collection, management and analysis.  Data collection methods include quantitative and qualitative interviewing by phone and in person, and medical record abstraction.  Field work will be required in different regions:

Essential duties and Responsibilities:

  • The essential duties and responsibilities will largely focus on:
  • Training in protection of human subjects (ethics) and all study procedures
  • Conducting respondent recruitment, consenting, data collection/abstraction, qualitative interviewing
  • Data entry, coding, cleaning, transcribing
  • Reporting on activities and deliverables

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have at least an advanced diploma/degree in either of the following: sociology, statistics, medical or related field/
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must be fluent in English and Kiswahili.
  • Must have prior experience in conducting research data collection and report writing.
  • Knowledge and experience in database development and management an added advantage.
  • Ability and availability to travel to the fields for more than 5 weeks non-stop.
