Call for Volunteers-Strengthening Proposal writing Unit.
Community Development and Relief Trust (CODERT). CODERT is a registered non-Governmental, non – Political, non-religious, non-profit making organization. The Organization is registered under   the Ministry of Home affairs with ride registration no. SO. 13191. Community Development and Relief Trust (CODERT) started operating in Tanzania since July 2004 as a NGO and operates in priority regions of Mwanza, Dodoma, Geita, shinyanga, singida Morogoro, (Shinyanga DC, Geita DC, Nyamagana, Ilemela MC, Dodoma urban, and Kilombero etc). . Working within the directions of  FIVE YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN FOR CODERT TANZANIA 2015 – 2020 , CODERT focuses in four (5) programs include Livestock development, environmental sustainable development, Women and Youth development, agriculture development and land use management. The main activities in key sectors of Environmental management, equitable Land use Plan, Education, Livelihood security, youth, women rights and child rights. CODERT executes its program activities mainly through Advocacy campaigns, capacity building (training, publicity materials - IEC and linkage).
CODERT is currently implementing a project to Strengthening Women through Irrigated Vegetable Production and Marketing funded by (European Union and Helvetas Swiss Inter cooperation), Kizazi kipya project funded by (USAIDS-under pact international as a Lead implementer) , Prevention of waste form of Child Labour in Geita mining areas and Global Sanitation Fund through Plan International in chamwino and Bahi funded by  (Plan International in Tanzania in support of European Commission) and Youth Economic Empowerment project (YEE) funded by European Union/Plan International .
Along with CODERT Resource mobilization strategy plan (RMSP), CODERT has decided to strengthen a current proposal writing team in Mwanza by recruiting anamazing team of volunteers who will help with the variety of proposal production.
Volunteering at CODERT is a great way to meet the community, learn about how to develop your proposal writing skills, and of course you also get a working experience!

You will be joining a team of dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are looking to make a difference. Role & Experience
Produce professionally written proposal content that clearly articulates the organizations value proposition. This is a networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines.
Proven skills in producing and editing proposal content within a complex business environment. The proposal writer will be experienced in leading bidding sessions, participating in key review meetings / final document review, content sign off and document production. Experience of coordinating and updating a knowledgebase system is beneficial.

Core Responsibilities
  • Participate in sessions with bid / proposal team members and key stakeholders
  • Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts
  • Assist the Bid / Proposal manager in developing a proposal structure
  • Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
  • Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Proposal Manager against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required
  • Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders
  • Present all new proposal content to the knowledgebase manager for potential re-use
  • Communicate and influence at a required level
  • Strong time management / prioritization skills
  • Strong written English and Swahili language skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.
Qualifications
Degree educated in

  • Accountancy/Finance (1 position)
  •  Medical doctors/community health, nursing, epidemiology or nutrition. (1 position)
  • Sociology, psychology special needs, gender studies Agriculture/Agronomist, Risk management (2 position)
  • Community development (1 position)
  • Graphic designer/programmer or Blogger (1 position)
  • Water and sanitation/Environmental science (1 position)
