Planning Engineer
Kilombero Sugar Company Limited, the largest producer of sugar in Tanzania, is seeking to
recruit a dynamic, self-motivated and results-oriented individual for the post of Planning Engineer reporting to the Reliability Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, controlling and supervising the Planning Section at the Kilombero Factory.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility of the Factory Planning Engineering department.
  • Prepares maintenance schedules of all assets in respect of planned maintenance and to establish activity durations and sequence for specific crafts.
  • Ensure Planning Department meets customer expectations as well as group requirements.
  • Comply with group maintenance requirements by ensuring off crop, stop day plans and activities are effectively implemented.
  • Drive and ensure compliance of Maintenance Metric.
  • Assists in the development of Off Crop Labour requirement and resource levelling for various crafts.
  • Manage subordinates as to achieve their specific objectives.
  • Ensure all tasks in the section are performed according to Kilombero Quality, Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures.
  • Compile and control section budgets, and analyse budget variances as per company financial policy and guidelines. 


 Job Requirements:

  • BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years working experience in a similar position in a large manufacturing firm.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance systems.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Advanced Excel and Word, Intermediate PowerPoint and MS Projects).
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage and develop people and to ensure that the department’s KPIs are achieved is a prerequisite.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills effective at all levels.
  • Conscientious, effective and efficient.
  • Passionate and committed to work duties and responsibilities, and ready to work long hours.
  • Mentally and physically fit.
