The Centre for Good Governance & Economic Development (CGG & ED) is a registered non-profit organization running good governance and economic development training and consultancy services in various areas in Tanzania.
The overall objective of CGG & ED is to train and offer consultancy services in Good Governance, Economic Development and general leadership principles to potential and existing elected and appointed Local Government leaders in Tanzania.HSF is a German political foundation whose mission is to foster democracy, peace and development. Currently HSF is implementing projects in over 60 countries worldwide.
The overall objective of CGG & ED is to train and offer consultancy services in Good Governance, Economic Development and general leadership principles to potential and existing elected and appointed Local Government leaders in Tanzania.HSF is a German political foundation whose mission is to foster democracy, peace and development. Currently HSF is implementing projects in over 60 countries worldwide.
The project focus is to contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5, target 5 in Tanzania: Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life.
The project specific objective is to enable women to participate to a greater extent in political processes in preparation of the Local Elections in 2019 and the General Elections in 2020; whereas the following outputs are envisaged;
- Output 1: The capacities of 200 female aspirants are strengthened in the area of political leadership, ethics, campaigning, networking and equal opportunities in decision-making bodies.
- Output 2: The capacities of the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) to institute monitor and document policies and laws that increase participation and representation of women in political parties are enhanced.
- Output 3: The knowledge and exchange between organisations active in the field of women are increased.
Specific Responsibilities
- Managing the implementation of activities under output 1, in line with EU/HSF rules and regulations and in line with the project expected deliverables.
- Coordinating between the Executive Director of CGG&ED, Office Manager of CGG&ED, the trainers carrying out the aspirants' trainings, the EU Program Manager based at HSF and other partners and stakeholders.
- Visiting the activities to gain adequate knowledge of the potentials, constraints, and the training environment, in order to be able to advice, monitor progress and provide improved support;
- Preparing project documentation/updates and financial reports in format prescribed by CGG &ED and HSF;
- Creating and maintaining a database of WPLT trainees, trainers, files, records and the office database including contact management;
- Composing articles and selection of photos for the EU/CGG & ED/HSF websites;
- Designing agreements and MoU’s for trainers, consultants and other service providers as assigned;
- Performing other duties as assigned by the CGG & ED Director and/or HSF Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
- University Graduate in a relevant subject with minimum of two (2) years professional experience in project management and development projects. Previous experience with projects funded by the EU and professional experience in adult learning activities will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work in a team and under minimal supervision
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, spreadsheet and/or database software
- Demonstrated skills in report writing
- Very good knowledge of written and spoken English and Swahili languages
- The willingness to travel for the project's duration both within and outside Tanzania
- Knowledge and experience in training women to increase their political participation will be an asset
- Knowledge and experience in basic accounting procedures will be an additional asset
The monthly gross salary is fixed three (3) Million TZS. Duty station will be Dar es Salaam.
