The Commissioner General of Immigration Services announces vacant Posts in the
Immigration Department. Any Tanzanian Citizen by Birth with qualifications mentioned

hereunder is encouraged to apply for the positions of Corporal and Constable as follows:-

A. CORPORAL OF IMMIGRATION (226 Posts)

1. Qualifications:
 Tanzanian Citizen by Birth aged between 18 - 25 years
 Holder of Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education who completed her/his
studies during the academic year 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. An applicant
must have at least two PRINCIPAL passes in the following subjects: English,
Swahili, History, Geography, French, and Mathematics.
 An applicant who attended National Service (JKT or JKU) will be given
priority.
2. Added advantages:
 Basic Certificate and/ or Diploma from any accredited Institution by
NACTE in the following fields: Law, Computer, Full Technician Certificate
(FTC) in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
 An applicant who is competent and fluent in French, Chinese, Germany,
Arabic or Spanish language will also be considered.
3. Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) To supervise and keep Immigration records in good order
(ii) To issue immigration forms to customers and guide them on how to fill
(iii) To escort immigration criminal suspects to the court and provide relevant
evidence
(iv) To escort immigration deportees

(v) To supervise and conduct patrols along the border areas, sea ports, bus
stands, highways, railway stations, business centers and other entry points
(vi) To apprehend all suspected immigration offenders and take them to the
relevant authorities
(vii) To supervise and conduct inspection in the hotels, guest houses and other
business premises
(viii) To write Immigration documents

B. CONSTABLE OF IMMIGRATION (414 Posts)

1. Qualifications:
 Tanzanian Citizen by Birth aged between 18 - 25 years
 Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education who completed her/his studies
during the academic year 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. An applicant must have
at least three CREDIT passes in English, Swahili, History, Geography, French,
and Mathematics.
 An applicant who attended National Service (JKT or JKU) will be given
priority.
2. Added advantages:
 Basic Certificate and/ or Diploma from any accredited Institution by
NACTE in the following fields: Law, Computer, Record Management, Full
Technician Certificate (FTC) in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
 An applicant who is competent and fluent in French, Chinese, Germany,
Arabic or Spanish language will also be considered.
3. Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) To open and keep Immigration customer’s files in good order
(ii) To issue Immigration forms to customers and guide them on how to fill
(iii) To escort immigration criminal suspects to the court and provide relevant
evidence
(iv) To escort immigration deportees
(v) To conduct patrols along the border areas, sea ports, bus stands, highways,
railway stations, business centers and other entry points
(vi) To apprehend all suspected immigration offenders and take them to the
relevant authorities
(vii) To conduct inspection in the hotels, guest houses and other business
premises
(viii) To provide service and maintenance to machines and other working tools
(ix) To produce immigration documents from the Immigration Printing Unit

C. General Requirements:
All applicants must comply with the following conditions and requirements: -
(i) Must be physically fit,
(ii) Must have Good behavior,
(iii) Must be ready to undergo medical Examination,
(iv) Must be ready to work at any station within the United Republic of
Tanzania,
(v) Should not have any tattoo
(vi) Should not have criminal records
(vii) Should not be the Government’s employee
(viii) Should not be married or with a child
(ix) Should be ready to undergo one year Military training

D. Submission of Application:
Application letters must be accompanied with the following during
submission:
 Certified copies of original Birth certificate, Certificate of Secondary
Education (CSE), Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education
(ACSE), Basic Certificates or Diploma from recognized Institution.
 School Leaving Certificates
 Letter of Introduction from Village/Ward Executive Officer or Sheha,
 Two recent passport size photographs
