QUALIFICATIONS : BACHELOR DEGREE IN MINE ENGINEERING
EXPERIENCE

  • 7 years experience in the planning and operation of underground mines of which at least 5 years in the planning domain
  • Experience in various underground mechanized mining method essential
  • Advanced skills in 3D mine design and scheduling software
  • Substantial experience in all aspects of planning ranging from LOM planning to detailed short term and productions planning

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY
SAFETY
  • Maintain compliance with OHSAS 18001
  • Develop an annual plan for months safety inspections and task observations
  • Coordinate monthly safety inspections task observations
  • Attend weekly  safety meeting to communicate safety issues and monitoring at all actions and issues are addressed

PEOPLE
  • Complete weekly RAR session with manager as well as with direct reports
  • Conduct frequent performance management skills at least 2 x per year
  •  Hold weekly meeting with direct reports
  •  Mange team of underground planning and productions engineers

PLANNING
  • Monitor and report deviance from 3 monthly and 7/21 schedule
  • Overview monthly end reporting process for underground productions statistics
  • Coordinate all relevant productions engineer work inclostope and ring design
  • Assist underground manger with monthly claims
  • Establish and maintain a mine planning system using suitable fit for purpose software to integrate geological resource models survey data optimize designing productivity trends process recoveries to accurate and timely plan mining

POSITION : UG VENTILATION ENGINEER

WORKS FOR   TECHNICAL SERVICE MANAGER
QUALIFICATIONS  :DIPLOMA/DEGREE MINE ENVIROMENT OR EQUIVALENT

EXPERIENCE                        
  • At least 7 years experience in underground mining of which at Least 5 years are ventilations mine environment control
  • Experience in various underground mechanized mining method
    Advantages
  • Experience ventilation software modeling package and solid
  • Experience operating GMP such as Vulcan studio 5D or similar
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE        
To ensure mine ventilations best practice are followed at the newly established underground mines and all technical service pertinent underground ventilations is supplied

KEY OF ACCOUNTABILITIES
SAFETY
  • Maintain compliance with OHSAS 18001
  • Develop an annual for monthly safety inspections and task observations
  • Coordinate monthly  safety inspections and task observations
  • Ensure all areas ventilated according to standard and report any deviations immediately so supervisor and stop working areas if required
PEOPLE
  • Complete weekly RAR session with manager as well as with direct reports if capable
  • Monitor effectiveness of getting the work done within the department with respect to continuous improvement reduce process variations and trust inducing manager
  • Conduct frequent performance management sessions at least 2 x per year
  • Hold weekly meetings with direct reports
ENVIROMENT
  • Maintain appliance with ISO14001
  • Ensure all design and planning work compliance with environmental policies
VENTILATIONS
  • Provide detailed key inputs for the budgeting process
  • Assist underground manager in compiling ventilations procedure and process
  • Assist underground productions manager in compiling ventilations procedures and process
  • Participate in monthly planning
  • Developed and maintain ventilations network plans/ models for all underground working and update when changes occur
  • Monitor primary ventilation fan performance
  • Support an primary and aux ventilation maintenance schedule and notify underground of any impacts to the working environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Solid experience in MS Office Product- specifically Excel and Word ability to maintain compose under stressful situations and conflict priorities while providing leadership and directions
  • Demonstrate leadership ability at remote site and developing country
  • Superior written and verbal skills (English ) as well as excellent organizations and interpersonal skills required
  •  Able to maintain and hold a Tanzanian driver license
