application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill up the following
position.

Assistant Manager/Manager Human Resources

Brief of responsibilities:
Supervise; guide & lead teams of Human Resources and to transform our HR into a world class
HR Organization to foster a strong, global community of future leaders and talent who represent
BRAC values and philosophy; and to ensure strategic as well as operational management support
for accomplishing short as well as long-term goals of BRAC in Tanzania as well as BRAC
International.

Human Resource Strategy:
a. Manpower Planning: Annual manpower planning in consists with program growth,
organization long-term objective accomplishment & Budget to ensure right people with right
quality and quantity. Monitor and ensure the recruitment standard and polices are in place and
following pro active approach is maintained to attract talents.

b. Recruitment: Add value in developing reliable selection tools, long-term sourcing plan and
organization long term image building to attract targeted talent to ensure the required skilled
manpower for the organization smooth functioning are supplied with right quality and timely
manner.

c. On boarding Program: keeping in consideration about the staffs turnover ratio in minimal
condition, develop and actively monitor new joiner on boarding program to welcome them on
board, set mentor & buddy, evaluating periodically while providing necessary skills to run
their individual functioning with high retention possibility.

d. Performance Management: To develop and establish performance driven culture in the
organization, ensure annual performance objective are set according to the smart factor,
periodically evaluate them and ensure proper performance based pay. Ensure proper coaching
and learning programs are designed and deliver to make PMS understand to the staffs.

e. Succession Planning: with a dream of developing a world class development organization with
long term sustainability, preparing structure, indentifying backbone positions, identifying
talent and successor for each, made evaluation, developing according to the set IDP and deploy,
mobilize and retain.

f. Retention Strategy: Analyze and develop long term retention strategy to keep coherent smooth
functioning of programs in the country and add value in setting up strategic retention plan for
the organization.

g. People Development: To ensure the required skills essential for the individual staffs to
accomplish organization vision are provided as set plan; indentifying needs from different
channel e.g. development plan from performance management system, annual needs survey,
individual development plan (IDP) of successors, Talent of the organization. Analyze and
develop common leadership competencies, standard training to ensure support to accomplish
organization long term objective, ensuring proper implementation of the annual development
budget.

h. Strategic Alignment: keeping a proper scanning the external environment and keep relevant
internal changes to the Human Resources Policies and Procedures (HRPP) periodically.
Ensures that organizations strategies, policies and procedures are well understood among all
the staffs for proper implementation with optimal budget. In all actions, keeping active
alignment with Country Lead Human Resource, organization vision, mission and values.

i. Diversity & Inclusion: to ensure harmonious working environment where diversified people
from different countries work together, add value in designing different activities, campaigns
are in place to welcome Diversity & Inclusion.

j. Compensation Competitive Plan: Provide technical support to ensure that a competitive pay
structures are in place; monitoring that a periodic surveying is being conducted to attract and
retain talent.

HR Team Development:
a. Analyze and ensure proper competencies required for each position, ensure properly being
maintained the Individual Development Plan (IDP) for each position in Human Resource,
passport to success, with certain development tools and timeline. Proper monitoring for
successful implementation to develop HR Staff member. Motivate and guide all to have a
common objective and shared commitment towards the objective and Country Human
Resource Strategy.

Human Resource Service & Compliance:

a. Service: ensure proper service excellence and implementation of Policies e.g. Leave,
Attendance, ensure on time quality recruitment, delivering service in terms of regular tasks e.g.
employment contract administration, transfer and pay roll generating. Ensure filling, record
keeping standard are met which reflects standard operating procedures are in place.

b. Policies Dissemination: proper implementation of policies e.g. Gender, Sexual Harassment,
Child Protection, Human Resource Compliance Committee, are periodically disseminated
among staffs to bring clear understanding, fair & balanced practice.

Educational requirements:

  •   Bachelor Degree in Human Resources
  •   Extensive knowledge in Tanzania labor laws.
  •   Attention to detail with high potential to be future leader.
  •   3 to 5 years of experience in the same position.
  •   Excellent communication skills.

Job Location: Country Office, Mbezi Beach, Dar es Salaam.
Reporting: Country Lead HR & Training Salary & Benefits: This position will start modest but will have raise depending on performance. Additional benefits include, two days weekend, Medical
Insurance including dependents, Lunch Subsidy, Leave, PPF etc.
