With the understanding that only when families have economic security can they turn their attention to the needs of their children, WVT has developed and launched its five years strategy 2016-2020.The strategy seeks to improve the livelihoods household’s members in our Area programs, through increased production, productivity promoting sustainable use of natural resources, while Integrate Health, Nutrition, Water & sanitation and Education to improve wellbeing of children in Tanzania.

To implement the aforesaid strategic vision, WVT is launching a World Vison Tanzania Academy internship program to build a critical mass of hands-on agribusiness experts, health, nutrition, Water & Sanitation and Education that would be used to build the capacity of Households members to improve their livelihood through integrated manner. The broad goal is to support skills transfer, mindset change and technological know-how that will help Household members to adopt innovations, improve productivity and catalyze agricultural sector transformation, and improve education, health, Nutrition, water and sanitation of family members including children.

WVT is seeking applications from suitable qualified internship candidates. Successful applicants will initially attend one week orientation program. Thereafter, each intern will be assigned to rural based Area Program (AP) in Tanzania to serve under the mentorship of an experienced WVT Staff for a period of twelve (12) months. Accommodation support, monthly subsistence stipend, medical cover and life insurance will be provided by WVT. This twelve (12) months internship is for young professional development opportunity and shouldn’t be construed as an employment or guarantee of being employed by WVT, but rather should be considered as a unique learning opportunity. Should there be a vacancy fitting the intern’s skills and qualifications after successfully finishing the internship program, WVT could consider the intern for full time employment with WVT through a competitive recruitment process.

Minimum qualifications and requirements:

  • All intern applicants must be fresh graduates from a recognized University or Academic Institution preferably with a Degree BSc in Human Nutrition and also BA in Journalism, Communication for development.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills in both Kiswahili and English.
  • Be willing to live and stay in WVT’s rural communities for one (1) year during the internship program.
  • Be a young and energetic male or female Tanzanian citizen who is not more than 30 years of age.
  • Be willing to abide to WV’s Christian and Core values.

Only interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications addressed to the People and Culture Coordinator with an updated CV, copies of relevant credentials (degree certificate and academic transcript), present contacts information and 3 references (1 academic referee, 1 professional referee and 1 church leader referee). Each applicant is also required to submit a 2 page essay describing “Why they should be considered for this internship program”.
