Position: Programmes Manager

Summary of the Position:
Connects Autism Tanzania is a grassroots Non-Government Organization that works to support people living with autism and co-occurring conditions through capacity building, advocacy, community awareness and developing opportunities for success.  We are looking for an active, experienced Programmes Manager who is interested in helping to develop and support our programmes and the population we serve.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Programme Development
Work with the Executive Director to deliver programmes in line with CA Tanzania’s 5 year strategic plan.
Recruit, train and manage Special Needs Job Coaches for the youth employment programme.
Recruit, train and manage business partnerships for the Youth Employment programme.
Develop monitoring and evaluation tools for CA Tanzania’s programmes to ensure that we are achieving desired outcomes.
Develop a database of organisations and experts to support programmes.  
Assist the Executive Director in preparing organization budgets.  
Assist accountant in monitoring above budgets
Assist in preparing quarterly reports for donors, Board of Directors and government authorities.

Volunteer Management
Assist Executive Director in developing volunteer program participation.
Recruit, train and support staff and volunteers.
Act as a link between volunteers and local school or organizations.

Communications

Develop and manage CA Tanzania’s relationships with media outlets including television, radio, print, and press releases.
Develop CA Tanzania’s online presence through websites, e-newsletters, blogs, and social media.
Seek out media opportunities to educate the Tanzanian society regarding autism and co-occurring conditions.
Provide timely communication to stakeholder community through email and social media tools such as Facebook and Twitter.
Keep CA Tanzania website up to date with news stories and activities.


Fundraising

Work with Board of Directors to support fundraising activities.
Researching funding sources, and assist in developing fundraising initiatives.
Follow up with Board Members regarding their efforts to recruit high profile support.
Coordinate the activities of donors in local fundraising campaigns.

Networking and advocacy

Maintain active communication with community groups, funders, government officials, and other organizations that share CA Tanzania mission.
Participate in community activities, seminars, and other opportunities to advance CA Tanzania.

 Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development, Education, Public Administration or related field
  • 2-3 years of Experience in many of the above tasks
  • Fluent in Reading, Writing and Speaking English and Swahili
  • Technology Skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher), Google Email, Google Drive, Social Media, Website Design
  • Strong Desire to help improve the lives of people with autism and co-occurring conditions
  • Good Communication skills and a strong ability to work with others
  • Self-Starter with the ability to work independently
