Underground Mining Production Specialist - Coach-079276
Description
Acacia Mining seeks to employ an Underground Mining Production Specialist - Coach based at Bulyanhulu Mine in Tanzania. This role reports to the Mining Manager and the role holder will be accountable to develop and coach the First Line Leaders and Section Leaders in the Mining Department on leadership, systems and processes to support the delivery of safe and profitable gold production in line with industry best practice.
This is a one (1) year fixed term contract role, with the work roster being six weeks on and three weeks off.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Effective coaching and development of the Underground Mining First Line Leaders and Section Leaders resulting in improved mining efficiencies, such as:
Safety
Reduction in Loss Time Injuries (LTI) and Medical Treatment Injuries (MTI)
Accurate and timely completion and submission of incident report forms within 24 hours
Completion of incident investigations within 7 days
Submission of Flash Reports within 24 hours
Conducting weekly planned task observations
Increase in time spent in the field per week
Increase in reporting of hazards and near misses on a daily basis
Compliance
Ensure logbook compliance
Compliance to daily services and planned maintenance on mining fleet
Compliance to planned weekly drill metres, blasted tonnes and schedule for tonnes
Spatial compliance to the monthly plan for tonnes
Overbreak
Average of 0.3m Elos in Longhole
Decrease in overbreak in Alimak
Improvement in stope turnaround time
Increase in drilled stocks
• Ensure that all mining physicals (daily, weekly, monthly and annual)/ systems are to standard for audits, and that any non-compliances are addressed appropriately
• Leadership
Coach and develop Underground Mining First Line Leaders and Section Leaders to enable them to meet their performance objectives
Assist with developing and implementing individual development plans for Underground Mining First Line Leaders and Section Leaders
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification Requirements:
• Relevant Mining Certification (Mine Overseer Certificate etc.)
Experience Requirements:
• 3 – 5 years underground mining experience is essential
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
• Mining, Processing, Maintenance and Geology
• Safety Standards, Practices & Protocol
• Maintenance practice and principles
• Business improvement tools and processes
