Marie Stopes Tanzania (MST) is a marketing-focused, results-oriented social enterprise, which uses modern management and marketing techniques to provide family planning, reproductive and sexual healthcare and allied services. MST is a member of the Marie Stopes International (MSI) Global Partnership, which operates in over 45 countries worldwide. MST’s goal is to improve quality of life in Tanzania by dramatically improving access to and use of family planning and other reproductive health services.

We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our highly motivated team as External Relations Lead;

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for the implementation of the Marie Stopes Tanzania Strategy (Power of 10), policy development and advocacy initiatives in collaboration with relevant partners for the highest attainable impact of MST work in Tanzania. The External Relations Lead is also responsible for high quality reproductive health services that women can access easily. The role is a leading role in the organization and with matrix responsibilities to the executive team whilst role modelling participation, inclusion and transparency and inspire employees to assume responsibility and accountability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Power of 10
o Monitoring of progress in achieving the P10 objectives;
o Review Power of 10 strategy
o Ensuring the power of 10 is mainstreamed throughout MST, at all levels
o Build internal capacity to achieve Power of 10 objectives In close collaboration with the Director of Human Resources;
o Develop the annual Business Plan to implement Power of 10 in close collaboration with the Finance Director
o Monitor and report on the implementation of the annual Business Plan
o Strengthen the internal collaboration across the organization and further develop the Marie Stopes Tanzania head office to make the organization work effectively across the commercial and social business.
• Policy and Partnership
o Maintain and strengthen existing partnerships
o Together with the Country Director engage with the Government of Tanzania to make Marie Stopes Tanzania the preferred collaboration partner of the Government;
o Identify new partnerships and business possibilities
• Advocacy
o Deliver the Marie Stopes advocacy strategy including reviewing and [M&W?????]
o Promote and advocate changes in the legal framework and/or policies and guidelines relevant to comprehensive reproductive health services;
o Promote women’s right to choice
o Promote the right to access the highest attainable quality of reproductive health services
o Engage in policy analysis and advocacy to contribute towards the improvement of the quality of administration and management of Power of 10

• Communication
o Ensuring a relevant and updated communication strategy both internally and externally is in place and working
o Promote Marie Stopes Tanzania to positioning the organization as a lead Reproductive Health provider of choice
o Spearhead on going communication of national and regional results and impact


• MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

o Mature manager at senior level
o Accustomed to multicultural environment and able to comfortable work in different settings and at all levels
o Confident in managing conflict and sensitive issues
o Solid understanding of budgetary procedures and financial management
o Strong motivation and communication skills and in a participatory , inclusive
o management style are important to Marie Stopes Tanzania
