Over the past 30 years, Agriteam has managed and implemented more than 350 projects and assignments in dozens of countries worldwide.
Agriteam is currently recruiting a Training and Learning Specialist for an upcoming project in Tanzania. The objective of the project is to provide Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) for (i) more effective management of teacher education and professional development; and (ii) improved quality and relevance of gender-sensitive instruction for student teachers at Government teachers’ colleges. The Training and Learning Specialist’s inputs will be 935 days over the 5 year duration of the project, based in Tanzania.
Responsibilities:
• Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders
• Identifying opportunities for synergies with other donor-funded initiatives in Tanzania
• Assessing and monitoring the political environment with regard to teacher education in Tanzania
• Collecting, analyzing and synthesizing results related to improved gender-sensitive instruction for teacher trainees
• Tracking project results related to improved gender-sensitive instruction for teacher trainees
• Developing training plans for teacher instructors or teachers
• Developing training modules for teacher instructors or teachers
• Developing terms of reference for the recruitment of education specialists
• Providing oversight and coordination for curriculum review
• Providing oversight and coordination for teacher training
• Training of teacher instructors or teachers

Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Education, Education Management and/or Public Administration
• On-going professional development related to: Public Administration, Education, and/or teacher Education
• At least 10 years of experience, within the last 15 years, performing similar duties to those outlined under “Responsibilities”
• Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders, including government representatives, regional authorities, teachers, development partners, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, and/or the private sector
• At least 5 years of experience organizing and delivering large-scale training activities, focused on teacher education
• Experience using Results Based Management procedures (RBM)
• At least 5 years of experience working in a developing country, with preferably some experience working in Tanzania
• Master’s Degree in Education, Education Management and/or Public Administration
• On-going professional development related to: Public Administration, Education, and/or teacher Education

Compensation
