 POSITION: HEAD OF AGRO LENDING

 Responsibilities
  • Management of the Agro Lending Unit
  • Design, roll-out, and manage all Agro Lending products
  • Maintain and publish all Agro-related market intelligence on various Agro activities including crop cycle guidelines, value chain diagrams, studies on other Agricultural topics
  • Support Branch Managers of all branches within the Lake Zone and the Southern Zone offering agro lending, and indirectly supervise all Agro Lending Senior Loan Officers and Agro Loan Officers
  • Supervise the Agro lending coordinator(s) to ensure they manage agro lending and crops facility operations
  • Manage high quality agro and crops facility lending activities
  • Supervise new branches’ Agro activities based on Agro market surveys and studies to the level of fully operational stage
  • Mitigate the bank’s risk exposure in Agro while at the same time growing a profitable, high quality, Agro business line

 Qualification and Personal Attributes
  • Holds a university degree in Agronomy or other Agricultural Fieldwork experience in the agricultural sector and/or work with farmers groups
  • Ability to relate directly to farmers and willingness to travel to rural areas of Tanzania on a regular basis
  • Experience in team management, ability to motivate team members by adopting a positive and constructive attitude
  • Expertise in diverse crops of Tanzania, Agricultural product design and expertise on Tanzanian’s cash crop Value Chain
  • Strong organization and follow up skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitments.
  • Strong communication and conflict management skills
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to new circumstances, information, and challenges
  • Strong analytical, presentation and report writing skills
  • Perfect command of written and spoken English
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel for data analysis and presentation, PowerPoint, MS Visio
