Tenure Assistance activity (LTA) funded by the USAID, based in Iringa. This four-year project will assist 41 villages in Iringa and Mbeya Districts to register land ownership by issuing CCROs, support village land use planning efforts and increase local understanding of land use and land rights.
To accomplish the project objectives, DAI Global LLC, Feed the Future Tanzania Land Tenure Assistance (LTA) seeks to recruit a committed and dedicated candidate to fill the position of an Information Technology (IT) Specialist
General Objective:
The Information Technology (IT) Specialist is responsible for the IT needs of the Office, including system installations, maintenance, support and technical consultations. S/he is responsible for ensuring that standards set by the DAI home office are followed and project solutions are the most efficient and cost effective. Responsibilities also include assisting in the setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of the LAN (Local Area Network). Responsible for the setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of staff computers and peripherals such as printers and scanners. S/he will ensure that proper back up, anti-virus and disaster recovery procedures are identified and followed and that end users have access to shared files, printers and to email. Other duties as assigned from time to time by the Finance and Operations Manager.

Objectives and Duties:
- Local network maintenance and installation including cabling, switches/hubs and NIC configuration TCP/IP, NAT, TCP/IP printing, windows network and domain services on TCP/IP;
- WAN connectivity and maintenance (Internet connection and services, and devices configuration and maintenance);
- Server and server application maintenance and installation (Hardware integration, Windows 2008/2012 server installation and maintenance, LAN and WAN connectivity, Lotus Domino and messaging system, FTP services, Kaspersky Antivirus Protection Corporate edition installation and maintenance;
- Client computer hardware and application installation and configuration, maintenance. Laptops, Desktops, MS Windows 7 Pro, MS Office Suite, Lotus Notes and other mail clients, Kaspersky AV and other project software;
- Maintain project data backup:
- Administer and maintain IP PBX extensions, hardware and phone;
- Regular communication with the Home Office OIMT IT Operations team regarding network, system hardware and software changes/issues/updates and user registration, updates, termination and implementation of any special features on the system;
- User support;
- Conduct IT assessments for beneficiaries and produce reports per DAI OIMT procedures;
- Manage, control, and secure all software;
- Check systems in order to optimize performance and to initiate recovery action after system
failures;
- Make suggestions for network hardware and software system improvements;
- Create and maintain effective inventory of IT and communication equipment;
- Provide assistance in procurement and evaluation of all IT technical equipment;
- Advise in procurement process and assist with IT Inventory.
- Knowledge of backup and restore services;
- Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures as set forth in the project’s Field Operations Policy Manual and DAI Operations Manual.
- Undertake any other IT related task as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Completed college education in relevant field and minimum 3 years of relevant experience in IT project planning, control and monitoring, system analysis, system administration, maintenance and user support;
- Demonstrated ability to resolve IT problems both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to identify priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- PC and Server support experience, especially with Windows Server & Windows Client operating systems.
- Sound knowledge of desktop computing hardware and proficiency in Windows network administration: AD, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, Print and file sharing;
- Physical and logical LAN, WAN and VSAT infrastructure principles knowledge and experience; Communication equipment and VPN services;
- MS applications, MS Office, MS Project
- Common client applications such as Adobe Acrobat
- Basic IT troubleshooting skills and experience
- Experience or basic knowledge of Lotus Notes Client Administration, and replication within a WAN preferred.
- VSAT setup and maintenance preferred.
- Cisco administrative experience preferred.
- Excellent in Swahili and English
