Finance and Grants Specialist
Fintrac, a leading US-based agriculture consulting
firm with long-term programs in Africa, Asia and Central America, is seeking a Finance and Grants Specialist for the 4-year, Feed the Future Tanzania Mboga na Matunda project.
The Finance and Grants Specialist will help assist in the grant and sub-award aspects of the activity and report to the Finance and Grants Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • The primary responsibilities of the Finance and Grants Specialist are to:
  • Assist Finance and Grants Manager in developing and releasing activity-specific competitive solicitations.
  • Manage application processes with the required confidentiality, and prompt and accurate responses to applicants and interested parties.
  • Assist Finance and Grants Manager in the development of scopes of work, negotiation memoranda, and other required award documentation.
  • Assist in the performance of due diligence background and verification checks on individuals and organizations in accordance with donor requirements.
  • Liaise with grantees and partners for follow-up on implementation and compliance.
  • Ensure grant mechanism compliance by awardees at all time.
  • Assist Finance and Grants Manager with tracking grants budget expenditures and compliance
  • Participate in management meetings and maintain close communication with all key managers and corresponding field staff.
  • Support implementation, and monitoring of individual grantee work plans via regular check-ins with project administration, field technical staff, and grantees and with Finance and Grants Manager.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all transactions and supports internal and external audits.
  • Post financial transactions into Fintrac’s accounting system (Quickbooks).
  • Ensure all supporting documents are attached and compliant with USAID and Fintrac policies and procedures.
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Finance and Grants Manager.

Qualifications
  • The minimum qualifications for the Finance and Grants Specialist are: ? At least 5 years of experience in finance, grants, and contracts for US government-funded projects.
  • University degree in Project Management, Administration, Economics, or other related field.
  • Experience in writing, managing, and closing out grants with US Government Funds.
  • Knowledge of USAID regulations for awarding resources and reporting.
  • Very good understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Quickbooks.
  • Organized and able to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of project staff.
  • High attention to detail and high analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Willing to travel to remote locations.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) required.
