Communication Technology Internship Position. The East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) invites applications for Information and Communication Technology Internship Position from suitably qualified persons who are nationals of Tanzania to work in the College of Surgeons for East Central and Southern Africa Health Community. The internship is for a period of six months and is tenable at the ECSA Health Community Secretariat in Arusha Tanzania.
The Organization
The ECSA-HC is a regional health specific intergovernmental organization set up in 1974 to foster cooperation that will lead to the strengthening of health care programmes in the region and promote attainment of the highest possible standards of health among member states. The Member States of the ECSA Health Community are Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The Secretariat implements its activities through four technical programmes namely Family Health and Infectious Diseases; Food Security and Non Communicable Diseases; Health Systems and Capacity Development; Knowledge Management, Monitoring and Evaluation.
Duties Responsibilities of the Intern
Eligibility for the Internship - Information and Communication Technology
To qualify for the ECSA Health Community Secretariat Information and Communication Technology internship applicants must;
The Internship is full-time and is unpaid. ECSA-HC Management will however pay a stipend of US$ 150 per month to cater for intern’s transport and lunch while undergoing the internship.

- The Intern will be required to undertake the following responsibilities:
- Update the COSECSA website
- Update the COSESCA database
- Perform any other IT functions as delegated by the Supervisor
Eligibility for the Internship - Information and Communication Technology
To qualify for the ECSA Health Community Secretariat Information and Communication Technology internship applicants must;
- Be enrolled in an advanced diploma or a degree in Information Communication Technology in any tertiary institutions in Tanzania at the time of application and during the internship or be fresh graduates seeking to gain work experience.
- Be available for not less than two months.
- English is the working language at ECSA Health Community. Interns are expected to have a good command of written & spoken English.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications;
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of ECSA Health Community and have a personal commitment to the ideals of ECSA Health Community; and
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs
- Should be ready to start work immediately.
