1.PROJECT COORDINATOR
The Swedish NGO We Effect in partnership with the Tanzania Women Lawyers Association (TAWLA), an NGO with women lawyers forming the membership and Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC) have joined forces to embark on an initiative titled increased inclusive political system for women and youth in 2019 and 2020 elections at national and local levels in Tanzania. This initiative seeks to address barriers that prevent women and youth from participating in political processes hence end up being under-represented at decision making levels particularly those that are elected. This initiative is anticipated to start in January 2017 and covering about 28 constituents in three regions namely Arusha, Tanga and Mwanza. The initiative will result to more women and youth having increased opportunities of participating and getting elected both at local and national levels in the 2019 local and 2020 general elections in Tanzania.
We are looking for experienced, self-driven, dynamic and result oriented individuals who are keen to develop a career in a dynamic, passionate and challenging environment. The successful candidate will be part of the Secretariat team hosted at TAWLA offices in Dar es Salaam.
Overall job purpose
The project coordinator is responsible for the execution and advancement of the project to ensure increased inclusive political system for women and youth. The coordinator will coordinate the initiative at regional and national level based on the scope of work and geographical coverage. s/he will be responsible for planning, implementation and coordination of national and regional events related to the project as s/he provides over all oversight of the project.
Reports to: Director of Programs
Duty station: Dar es Salaam
Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Plans and organizes the operations of the project under his/her jurisdiction.
(ii) Provides technical and logistical support to project officers in the various regions
(iii) Prepares and submit quarterly progress reports to the Director of Programs
(iv) Prepares and submits periodic work plan for activities according to the contracts signed with the Donor for approval by TAWLA and key stakeholders.
(v) To follow up with the political dynamics and take charge of emerging issues relating to Project objectives
(vi) Track the local government Elections and General Election rules, Policies, Regulations and legislations
(vii) Follow up with existing projects contributing to political inclusion by forging partnership with the identified political parties, Registrar of Political Parties, National Electoral Commission and other relevant institutions
(viii) Create and maintain a database of stakeholders and regular update on how they contribute to the initiative
(ix) Liaison with Media and other stakeholders with consent from Executive Director.
(x) Provide ongoing monitoring and supervision of regional project officers
(xi) Attend all related stakeholders meetings, trainings, seminars, and workshops and Report feedback to the Director of Programs
(xii) Performs any other duties assigned to him/her by the Executive Director.
Entry Requirements and Qualifications
(i) Holder of Bachelor’s degree in Law or political science. Masters in Laws, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Project management or related fields is an added advantage
(ii) At least four years related experience in a leadership and/or supervisory position
Experience in enhancing women and youth participation and their capacity building in various spaces will be important

is to coordinate and support on the initiative at the regional level. The project officer will be responsible to monitor ongoing Political Engagement events and implement activities at the regional and ward levels. The project officer will keep daily contacts with the stakeholders at the regional level.

Entry Requirements and Qualification
(i)Holder of Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Public administration or Political science, Project management or related fields
(ii)Three years related experience in project management and community outreach

Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Implement all project activities including preparation of work plans and related monitoring at the regional level (includes community mobilization, trainings, stakeholders meetings etc)
(ii) Ensure the timely implementation of projectactivities and report any delays or discrepancies noticed in project activities.
(iii) Prepare project reports, Assist in communication and collaboration with partners.
(iv) Play a leading role in the development of advocacy and publicity materials.
(v) Maintain project files and related documentation.
(vi) Prepare meeting agendas and minutes for external meetings with partners and donors, support local staff to ensure smooth running of the office.
(vii) Actively participate in the organization of events, undertake other program administration tasks as and when necessary.
(viii) Conduct research and policy work on projects as directed and develop new project proposals in collaboration with other staff.
(ix) Coordinate the established forums and champions in the region and share necessary information with the Project Coordinator at the head-quarter.
(x) Perform any other duty as assigned by Supervisor.
