TACOSODE has recently signed a sub-grant agreement
with The International HIV/AIDS Alliance as part of a Regional SRHR-HIV/AIDS Programme in Southern Africa covering the period October 2016 to December 2020. The program under this sub grant seeks to address the needs of adolescents and young people (A&YP 10-18 years & 19-24years), with a focus on the additional needs of those living with HIV (A&YPLHIV). It is a multi-layered programme that will be implemented in four countries; Mozambique, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and is led by the International HIV/AIDS Alliance (the Alliance) with the AIDS Legal Network (ALN), M&C Saatchi World Services (Saatchi), Paediatric AIDS Treatment for Africa (PATA), Regional Psychosocial Support Initiative (REPSSI), the Global Network of Young People Living with HIV (Y+) and additional technical resource partners
As a Linking Organisation for the Alliance in Tanzania, we therefore require the services of a dynamic candidate for the following position:

Qualifications
- Degree in Social Science, Public Health Sciences or Related Other. Postgraduate degree will be advantage for this position.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in public health or related field
- Knowledge and experience in HIV prevention strategies
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Tanzania health system and social networks
- Strong inter-personal and public relations skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage a variety of activities concurrently
- Ability to communicate technical issues effectively and persuasively
- Demonstrated ability to think analytically and take initiative in solving problems
- Excellent English Language oral and written communication, proficiency in MS Office suite
- Experience in working with NGOs on Health programs
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop program documents including work plans and technical concepts for The Alliance, Management and other Key Stakeholders
- Provide oversight with the development review and editing of all Partner documents including progress reports, budgets, MER plans and other documents required by donor.
- Coordinate the planning and implementation of program activities under the Alliance grant according to approved work plans and within stipulated timelines and budgets
- Attend relevant meetings with Development Partners and other stakeholders at national level including relevant Technical Working Groups
- Provide technical support to Implementing Partners on execution of their workplans and ensure all IPs understand Program priorities
- Participate in Program Review Meetings
- Ensure that IPs prepare and submit all required reports within the expected time frame
- Coordinate and participate actively in the planning, organising, facilitation and evaluation of capacity building activities for IPs in collaboration will the different departments within TACOSODE
- Actively participate in evaluating program achievements and use findings in facilitating improvement strategies to achieve desired targets
- Identify opportunities that will translate into improved quality of services and program implementation
- Prepare periodic reports according to donor rules for the Alliance
