The role
As the Communication Officer for Maternal and Newborn Health, you will use your expertise to develop a 2-year CCBRT MH
marketing and communications plan for the 2016-2018 period; design and implement marketing strategies and materials targeted at prospective MH service users and referring facilities; oversee the development and execution of awareness raising events, managing websites and all other digital channels, write monthly progress reports and develop information forprospective service users/patients, their families and communities.
You will also act as a liaison to external vendors including design, advertising and printing companies/consultants; provide communications support to other MH related activities, including but not limited to report writing, collecting case studies,
photography and event organisation; proofreading, editing and inputting into other MH reports and materials and provide support to the overall CCBRT Communications and Programme Development team, and the Kupona Foundation.

The candidate
  • A Degree holder in marketing, communications, PR or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing, communications or Public Relations
  • Experience in healthcare related settings, preferably Maternal & Newborn Healthcare
  • Proven track record in developing content for diverse mediums
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills in Kiswahili and English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, talent to work with multiple stakeholders (internal/external) and intercultural working, as well as ability to deliver quality on time (working with short deadlines)

Vacancy:Clinical Lead: Maternity & Newborn Hospital Project 

The role
As our Clinical Lead, you will provide overall medical leadership to the CCBRT MH project team, ensuring the future delivery of quality medical services for optimal hospital functioning and performance. You’ll set in motion the formulation of our clinical
strategy, as well as the strategic (5-year) and operational plan for CCBRT’s MH – including preparing annual performance targets in line with the plan. Policy development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation pertaining to all areas of the
hospital’s management, medical and support services will be overseen by you, while you also lead the development and implementation of a coherent transition plan around go-live.
With a careful eye for detail, you’ll ensure the delivery of medical services and a safe and healthy working environment according to local legislation, standards and international guidelines. You’ll also ensure the hospital has the right people for
phased growth and full capacity, through staff numbers and role planning, and lead on recruitment, training, development, performance and reward management of current and future clinical staff. Understanding the importance of external relationships, you will also foster and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders (for example: partners, training
facilities, colleges, referring facilities) and promote the MH to local and international stakeholders to contribute to wider maternity care medical knowledge and attract practitioners.

The candidate
  • A medical doctor with a specialist medical qualification, preferably in Obstetrics/Gynaecology, and a Master’s degree in (hospital) management/administration
  • Minimum of 5 years senior management experience, ideally including the development of new hospitals/departments
  • Work experience in a developing country
  • A strategic, conceptual and analytic thinker with excellent management and leadership qualities and financial acumen
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and experience of relationship management, able to present complex or sensitive information to large groups
  • A person with plenty of initiative, who is self-motivated and driven
  • Strong skills in resource management, including the optimisation of human resources, equipment, facilities and capital

Vacancy: Technical Advisor – OBS/GYN: Maternity & Newborn Hospital Project

The role
As Technical Adviser in Obstetrics & Gynaecology you will be responsible for developing policies, processes & SOPs for the successful delivery of services at the new MH, supporting the development of a transition plan to MH go-live and contributing to overall MH operational development, planning and implementation. You will ensure CCBRT has the right people to do the job and take the MH forward by defining numbers and types of staff needed for the hospital’s growth (including active
participation in recruitment processes); developing and implementing OBS/GYN components of mandatory pre-employment induction training; providing advice, supervision and mentoring to staff in OBS/GYN related departments pre-opening, and developing and measuring the quality and impact of training programmes on OBS/GYN more generally. You’ll also conduct
training, mentoring and coaching support at some of the 23 facilities public in Dar es Salaam supported by CCBRT’s Capacity
Building Programme.
As the hospital develops, you will provide inputs in defining the processes and patient flows through the hospital (internal) from all ports of entry and exit, in addition to feeding in to the development of patient medical record content and templates for all clinical services and support. You will support equipment and supply planning for clinical departments and prepare monthly progress reports. When operational, you will monitor the general quality standards across areas of care, identify gaps
& implement corrective action.

The candidate
  • A medical doctor (MD/M.MED) with specialism in Obstetrics / Gynecology, with a minimum of 5 years clinical working experience, registered with the medical council of Tanganyika
  • Has an understanding of the Tanzanian health sector and preferable working experience within the Tanzanian Health System
  • Is a team player with an ability to work in diverse settings, with excellent interpersonal skills and good written and oral communication skills in English and preferably Swahili

Vacancy:Senior Technical Advisor – Anaesthesia:

Maternity & Newborn Hospital Project

The role
As the authority on anaesthesia services on the MH team, you will use your expertise to define the model of anaesthesia services, detailing policies, processes and SOPs and contribute to the senior leadership team on all anaesthesia-related matters. You will use your leadership and motivational skills to lead the MH anaesthesia department, ensuring high performance and morale throughout, and provide excellence in training: including provision of highly specialised advice,
supervision and mentoring to anaesthesia staff pre-MH opening; developing anaesthesia-related components of the mandatory pre-employment induction training, and developing and implementing training programmes for anaesthesia staff and monitoring the quality and impact of training.
At this critical stage in planning for go-live in early 2018, you will play a critical role in preparations, providing input in defining the processes and patient flows through the hospital from all ports of entry and exit; planning numbers and types of anaethesia staff required for phased and efficient growth and full capacity; inputting into the development of patient medical
records and templates for all clinical services and support; equipment and supply planning and development a transition plan for anaesthesia services up until opening. You’ll support overall MH operational development, monitor general quality standards across areas of care, implementing corrective action where needed, and prepare monthly progress reports.

The candidate
  • A qualified medical doctor registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika with an excellent specialisation in anaesthesiology, a minimum 10 years’ clinical working experience including obstetric anaesthesia, ICU and HDU, and at least 5 years in a management position
  • A principle author on at least 1 research paper published within the past 3 years, with an understandin of the Tanzanian health sector – preferably with working experience within it
  • Has strong analytic skills, excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to mobilise teams and work in diverse settings, with good written and oral communications skills in English and preferably Swahili
