The International Rescue Committee (IRC)
is an International Nongovernmental Organization that responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. In Tanzania, IRC is supporting refugee program in Kigoma Region. Currently the service is provided in Nyarugusu refugee camp in Kasulu District, Nduta/Mtendeli Refugee camps in Kibondo and at a Transit Centre in Kigoma town. At the Transit Centre, IRC support refugees and asylum seekers, support included Camp Management, Health care management and treatment, Child Protection, Community-based Rehabilitation (care for disabled), Vulnerable Care, Youth and Development and Gender-Based Violence. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) now seeks an experienced Education Data Officer to support the implementation of education program in Nyarugusu/Mtendeli refugee camps in Kasulu and Kibondo districts.

IRC seeks to recruit qualified Tanzanian, energetic and committed candidates to fill the following position:

Position:                      Education Data Officer
Location:                     Nyarugusu/Mtendeli, Kigoma
Reporting to:               Education M&E Manager


Specific Responsibilities
Prepare complete and high quality reports ensuring quality data from school are effectively tracking
Conducting school monitoring visits and ensures all data are collected and ensure the use of data collection tools.
Develop and maintain a system for archiving projects M&E guidelines, tools, data files, analysis files and reports
Ensure that all data collected in school obeys quality standard for education program
Entering data in Education database and providing quality reports weekly and monthly.
Ensure that key indicators are tracked on a consistent basis and in consistent manner across education units
Conducting data Verification in across education unit
Ensure good management of scholastic materials in education store and effective tracking of all materials distributed from the store
Ensure data cleaning in Education  database and quality of information provided from database
Prepare one page summaries  describing  each education unit key  activities, outcomes and impacts
Work close with school inspectors and education officers and ensure that school inspectors are using right monitoring tools to monitor the quality of education provided in school.
Work with M&E Manager in conducting education assessments as well as indentifying gaps in education program.
Establish and enforce quality standards and processes for data and information generated from the Education program

       Qualifications:
University degree in relevant field such as Statistics, Economics, and Development Studies, Business/Public Administration and/or other related social science field.
Significant field experience in project monitoring and evaluation at least 3 years experience in at least one (preferably more than one) of the following areas: Project Monitoring and Evaluation System Design, Management of Monitoring Systems, Project Evaluation.
Experience coaching and training staff, including design of short training sessions.
Proven experience in data reporting to donors
Proven experience in creating data collection tools
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks; proven self-initiative and problem solving abilities.
Team player, with good personal and management skills.
Computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power-Point, and Access.
Ability to work independently, but enlist the support and decision management.
Ability to work as part of a team that shares the common goal of preventing violence against women and children.
Willingness to comply with the organization’s child safeguarding policy and code of conduct.
Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets
