the last mile. Ongeza Sales Officers sell directly to rural customers. Ongeza products save rural
customers money, increase their income or improve their quality of life. Products include but are not
limited to solar lights, efficient stoves, agricultural equipment and inputs, water solutions and
transportation equipment. Ongeza plans to grow quickly across Tanzania. Ongeza is a start-up which
has secured its first round of funding and is building an excellent and high performing team to establish and grow the business.

Position description:
The Sales Team Leader will oversee the function of coaching, motivating, coordinating and supervising the sales team to reach company targets in his or her area of operation. This includes direct supervision of sales activities.

Sales Team Leader Responsibilities

An ideal candidate will perform the following responsibilities
• Planning and coordination of all sales (and Ongeza) activities to meet or exceed targets
• Monitoring of sales process and reporting of issues to continuously improve sales
• Identify coaching needs per individual Sales Officer and deliver coaching sessions accordingly
• Providing effective coaching sessions by phone and by regular travel to Sale Officer’s ward
• Analyzing Sales Officer's performance and work record reports on a daily bases
• Ensuring Sales Officer’s complete all sales by depositing money into the mobile money account
• Delivering, monitoring and auditing of Ongeza products and stock levels with Sales Officers
• Encouraging Sales Officers to meet their targets and sharing lessons learnt with colleagues
• Representing the Values, Mission & Vision of Ongeza

Sales Team Leader Qualifications:

An ideal candidate will have the following qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or other related field
• 2-5 years of experienced in sales and customer relationship management
• Excellent communicator and able to use enterprise software (e.g. MS Office or sales software)
• Proven record of growing and leading a team while meeting targets
• Should be able to ride a motorcycle and should own the relevant license
• Ability to work in rural areas and willingness to spend 2-3 hours per day on a motorcycle
• Fluency in Kiswahili and strong command of English
• Comfortable working in the start-up environment
• Valid motorcycle driving license
