TITLE: DATA MANAGER- (1 POST)

REPORTING: Project Investigator /Project Leader/ Institutional Data
System Manager
LOCATION – Dar-Es Salaam, Tanzania

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide daily data management services to project including technical support to site
coordinators.
§ Participate in the initial information gathering for tool and system development
§ Participate in the design of the tool and understanding of the overall data flow
concept and quality control
§ Participate in software/tool deployment and implementation including tablet
software deployment and troubleshooting
§ Provide overall central data management by reviewing incoming data from site
coordinators and make any necessary follow up or adjustments
§ Provide technical support to site coordinators in terms of device handling,
troubleshooting, and installation of software/applications
§ Responds to data queries, to both project participants and technical team
§ Responsible to prepare and run project backup routine
§ Develop and implement routine data quality control in order to ensure that all
project data meet quality measurements
§ Conduct site supervision for data quality control and data quality audits
§ Will be responsible to write project technical report and present to other team
members
§ Extract and prepare datasets for analysis including metadata definitions for
further data analysis
§ Perform system maintenance to online and offline databases (if exists),
including data cleaning and backup
§ Participate in other data systems unit activities and other in institutional
technical activities

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE.
§ BSc in Computer Information System or related field
§ Work experience in technology and software development, particularly software
programming and database systems and health informatics
§ Experience to have worked in public health technologies is a compliment
attentive to details, particularly with data handling


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
§ Ability to work independently as well as with a team
§ People person. This work will require to integrate with individuals in health
related environment
§ Act professional and adhere to institutional code of conduct (core values)
§ Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
