The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority, (TCAA) was established by the enactment of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority Act 2003 Cap 80 (R.E 2006). The Authority is responsible for safety, security and economic regulation of the activities of persons and institutions providing air transport services, aeronautical airport services and air navigation services
The Authority now invites qualified and experienced applicants to fill in the following vacant positions
A.    DIVISION OF SAFETY REGULATION
A.1 JOB TITLE; AERODROME AND GROUND AIDS DEVELOPMENT INSPECTOR (ELECTRICAL) 1 POST
Reporting: Reporting to the Principal Aerodrome and Ground Aids Inspector
Major responsibility
To conduct efficient and effective safety oversight activities of the Aerodromes in accordance with the Civil Aviation regulations under supervision of Aviation Aerodrome inspectors. The incumbent will undergo training for inspectorate functions under the ITS protocol or equivalent system
Duties of the job
1.    To conduct guided and periodically evaluated safety oversight of  Aerodromes including certification and licensing of Aerodromes
2.    To assess application for the initial and renewal of certificates and licenses as may be assigned by Aerodrome Inspector
3.    To perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Electrical engineering and registered by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a professional engineer with at least 3 (three) years working experience in the field of electrical systems, Experience in Aerodrome operation, air traffic management with equivalent academic level shall be considered on merit
Salary; Within salary grade of TCAA SS. 6

•    Successful candidate for the position will initially be appointed on one year probation period and thereafter if successful on unspecified period contract depending on the age of the employee

B.1 JOB TITLE; SECRETARY II
Reporting; Principal Administrative Officer
Major Responsibility
To provide secretarial services and perform routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondences, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronics files or providing information to callers
Duties and responsibilities
1.    To perform all secretarial duties including word processing, taking dictations and notes
2.    To receive and attend official guests to responsible officer
3.    To keep and maintain diary of events, appointment, commitments and other information necessary for working
4.    To draft letters and other correspondence of routine in nature
5.    To provide administrative logistics and secretarial support
6.    To make travel arrangements, confirmation of hotel booking and reservations
7.    To coordinate meetings of the respective office
8.    To perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Tanzania Public Service college or any other recognized institution with computer application skills in Microsoft office and Internet/E-mail. He/ she must possess high degree of integrity with good communication and inter personal skills
Salary; Within salary grade of TCAA SS. 4

B .2 JOB TITLE; DRIVER II (1 POST)
Reporting; Principal Administrative Officer
Major Responsibility
To drive and maintain motor vehicles in proper condition. In the performance of the functions, shall be called upon to dispatch/collect documents, parcels, equipment and assist conveyance of staff in connection of the Authority
Duties and responsibilities
1.    To drive Authority vehicles as assigned by supervisor and complies with state traffic laws
2.    To make per – vehicle inspection to the assigned vehicle prior travelling and perform routine service to his vehicle
3.    To keep record of vehicle movements, fuel, tyre and distance covered in logbook
4.    To report vehicle mechanical defects discovered and physical damage to the supervisor
5.    To ensure that the vehicle entrusted to him/her ha s a valid insurance cover
6.    To deliver documents as per delivery order and supervisor’s instructions
7.    To keep records of documents delivered to customers
8.    To dispatch letters to respective offices
9.    To report maintenance schedules to the Supervisor
10.    To perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
Certificate of ordinary Secondary School Education with passes in Kiswahili and English, Class C1M C2, C3 or E valid driving license and Trade Test grade III from VETA with at least three (3) years driving experience in a reputable organization
 Salary; Within salary grade of TCAA SS. 2
