University of Dodoma invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to
fill the following academic positions.
1.
POSITION:
Professors - PUTS 6.1 (12 Positions)
Required qualifications
MUST have
a PhD; a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of
5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with
minimum scores of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent from a recognized
institution. In addition, one must have post PhD working experience of 9 years
in a related field and 18 points from International peer reviewed publications
(from at least two sources including a minimum 45% from diversified journal
publications
Duties
and responsibilities
(i) To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars, practical,
invigilation and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (ii)
To mentor junior staff in relevant fields.
(iii)
To lead
play leadership roles at various levels of the University
(iv)
To
develop curricula, formulate academic policies and offer technical assistance
to University organs
(v)
To
undertake research, publish/disseminate results (vi) To carry out consultancy
and community services.
(vii)
To
supervise field practical, undergraduate special projects, Master and PhD
theses and dissertations
(viii)
To
publish scholarly books in the relevant speciality that advance frontiers of
knowledge
(ix)
To
perform any other duties that may be assigned by relevant authorities.
2.
POSITION:
Associate Professors - PUTS 5.1 (18 Positions)
Required
qualifications
MUST have
a PhD; a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of
5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree
with minimum scores of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent from a
recognized institution. In addition, one must have post PhD working experience
of 6 years in a related field and 12 points from International peer reviewed
publications (from at least two sources including a minimum 40% from
diversified journal publications).
Duties
and responsibilities
(i)
To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars, practical, invigilation and
assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (ii) To mentor junior
staff in relevant fields.
(iii)
To lead
play leadership roles at various levels of the University
(iv)
To
develop curricula, formulate academic policies and offer technical assistance
to University organs
(v)
To
undertake research, publish/disseminate results
(vi) To carry out consultancy and community
services.
(vii)
To

2.
POSITION:
Senior Lecturers: PUTS 4.1 (24 Positions)
Required
qualifications
MUST have
a PhD; a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of
5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with
minimum scores of B+ in relevant subjects or its equivalent from a recognized
institution. In addition, one must have experience of 3 years in a related
field and 5 points from peer reviewed publications (from at least two sources
including a minimum 35 % from diversified journal publications ).
Duties
and responsibilities:
(i)
To carry
out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate and
postgraduate courses
(ii)
To mentor
junior staff in relevant fields.
(iii)
To
participate in curriculum development
(iv)
To
conduct research, consultancy and public service
(v)
To
supervise field practical, undergraduate special projects, Master and PhD
theses and dissertations
(vi)
To
perform any other duties that may be assigned by relevant authorities.
3.
POSITION:
Lecturers: PUTS 3.1 - 3.3 ( 36 Positions)
Required
qualifications
Holders
of a PhD, M. Med or M. Dent Degree from a recognized institution, a Masters
Degree in
the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8
out of 5 or its equivalent in the first degree with minimum scores of B+ in
relevant subjects or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Duties
and responsibilities
(i)
To carry
out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate and
postgraduate courses
(ii)
To mentor
junior staff in relevant fields.
(iii)
To
participate in curriculum development
(iv)

conduct research, consultancy and public service

4.
POSITION:
Assistant Lecturers: PUTS 2.1 ( 100 Positions)
Required
qualifications
(a)
Holders
of Masters Degree in a relevant field with at least with a GPA of 4.0 out of
5 and a minimum Degree GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in the First
Degree with a a minimum score of B+ in the relevant subject or its equivalent.
(b)
Both
Masters and Bachelors degrees must be obtained from recognized institutions.
Duties and responsibilities:
(i)
To carry
out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate
programmes.
(ii)
To
conduct, publish/disseminate research results
(iii)
To
participate in research, consultancy and public service
(iv)
To
perform any other duties that may be assigned by relevant authorities.
5.
POSITION:
Tutorial Assistants: PUTS 1.1 - 1.3 ( 45 Positions)
Required
qualifications
Holders
of Bachelors Degree with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent from a
recognized institution. Additionally, one must have scored a B+ in the relevant
subjects or its equivalent.
Duties
and responsibilities
(i)
This is a
training post. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a Masters
Degree Training programme.
(ii)
To
conduct tutorials , seminars and practical training;
(iii)
To assist
in research, consultancy and outreach activities;
(iv)
To teach
Certificates and Diploma Courses
(v)
To
perform any other duties that may be assigned by relevant authorities.
