Background
Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief (CPAR) is an international NGO working in partnership with vulnerable communities and diverse organizations to overcome poverty and build healthy communities in Africa. CPAR is currently seeking experienced and capable individual to fill the Project Officer – Agriculture specialist position based in Bunda office, with the requirements as stated below:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position:                2 Project Officer – Agriculture Specialist ( AS )
Reports to:            Country Program Manager
Duty Station:        Bunda District, Mara- Tanzania
Duration:               One year, with a possibility of extension based on performance
CPAR Tanzania is now looking for self motivated Tanzania University graduate (Girls) to work on agriculture project. The goal of the project is to enhance the ability of small scale farmers of vegetable and fruits to increase and sustain agricultural production for improved household food security, nutrition and strengthening economy while at the same time safeguarding the environment by adopting sustainable agricultural practices and appropriate technologies
The applicant should be a Tanzania graduate with experience in horticulture, crop science and production, agribusiness and any relevant agriculture skills. The applicant should be self motivated, hard working, should be available at any time.

Qualifications
       Degree in Agriculture or related field
       Minimum 3 years of experience working in a program setting managing projects and/or resource mobilization
       Experience developing project proposals in similar funding and operational contexts to those of CPAR’s
       Familiarity with gender mainstreaming and able to integrate meaningfully in program design
       Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in planning initiatives
       Capacity to work closely with and understand local partners
       Excellent oral and written communication skills
       Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Required Foreign Language: Fluency in oral and written English
