Driver (x 4) POSITION DESCRIPTION:
From The Guardian, 25th Jan 2016Tetra Tech, through its subsidiary Tetra Tech ARD (http://www.tetratechintdev.com). a US-based international development firm is implementing a USAID-funded project 'the Tanzania Water Resources Integration Development Initiative (WARIDI) which seeks to achieve improvements in health, water resources management, agriculture, climate change adaptation and the environment in Tanzania. Win rock Intemational (http://www.winrock.org), a US-based international non-profit Organization , is a sub-contractor to Tetra Tech on WARIDI and is supporting its implementation.
Tetra Tech and Winrock are advertising for the following positions to be based in the Office (except where noted). All applicants should be Tanzanian citizens and be fluent in Swahili and English. Some positions are immediate and some will be phased in over the coming 3 - 4 months. Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity and gender are essential requirements
Driver (4 post)
Experience:
5 years of experience as professional driving, preferably with donor project implementers.
Education :
High school Certificate; clean Tanzanian drivers' license
Duties and Responsibilities
Drive, maintain, and service the project vehicles in keeping with the highest safety standards;
Ensures proper long-term and day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of all vehicles, including checking oil and other fluids, battery, brakes, tires, and other critical equipment;
Performs pick-ups, deliveries, repairs and makes purchases of office supplies as directed by supervisor;
Keeps log of vehicle use, maintenance, and service; .
In coordination with Office Manager and Logistics Coordinator, make all necessary arrangements and reservations for meeting and field trips for project staff members
Keep office and project vehicles secure in accordance with office and vehicle security procedures.
