Applications are invited from qualified and highly motivated Tanzanians to fill the following vacancies for Academic and Administrative posts at the Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU), located in Moshi Municipality as follows:

1.0 PROGRAMME OFFICER II (1 POST)
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •   Assisting in collecting data regarding training needs assessment.
  •   Assisting in the registration of distance learning students.
  •   Assisting and participating in teaching various courses and seminars
  •   Assisting in record keeping for programme activities.
  •   Support carrying out training needs assessment of the potential clients.
  •   Assist in preparing and executing demand-driven training programmes.
  •   Assist in undertaking research in associative economies.
  •   Any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department or Regional Programme
Coordinator.
1.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of an Advanced Diploma or First Degree in Cooperative Management, Accounting and
Community Development plus ICT Skills.
1.3 REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the MoCU’s salary scale PUSS 4

2.0 ACCOUNTANT II (1 POST)
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  •   Maintaining primary books of Accounts.
  •   Preparing payments.
  •   Preparing monthly reports on revenue and expenditures
  •   Preparing payment schedules.
  •   Maintaining various accounting ledgers
  •   Writing receipts, vouchers and cheques.
2.2 QUALIFICATIONS
A University Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Banking, and Commerce plus
ICT Skills.
2.3 REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the University’s salary scale PGSS 8

3.0 LIBRARY ASSISTANT II (1 POST)

3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  •   Manual operations in various sections of the library.
  • A Centre of Excellence in Co-operative Education and Practice 2
  •   Lending out and receipt of books.
  •   Cataloguing, indexing and assisting in the acquisition and periodical functions of the Library.
  •   Supervising routine of Library collection.
  •   Maintaining catalogue shelves and shelf reading.
3.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND AGE LIMIT
Possession of certificate in Library studies plus ICT Skills.
3.3 REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the MoCU’s salary scale PGSS 3.5

4.0 BINDER AND PRINTER II (1 POST)
4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  •   Assisting in printing work
  •   Duplicating, reproduces, staples and binds materials of various types
  •   Cleaning work areas and machines
  •   Receiving assignment directed to the unit.
  •   Developing and performing the work received.
  •   Receiving and Recording assignments
  •   Developing and performing jobs received by the unit.
4.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Form IV/VI certificate with three years training in the relevant field from a recognized institution or
Trade Test III plus ICT skills
4.3 REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the MoCU’s salary scale PGSS 3.5

x. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for ordinary or advanced level education should be
certified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA);
xi. Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for
Universities (TCU);
