|
Support
and supervise all nursing/midwifery related activities of the MCH project
|

Job
responsibilities
|
1.
To
support and supervise all nursing and midwifery related activities in the
health facilities such as recording patients’ medical information and
measurements, examinations, procedures and deliveries.
2.
To
support and supervise medical related
activities of the CHWs such as but not limited to outreaches and family
health education
3.
To
provide facility based of health education and counseling to the mothers and
their families by instruction to individuals, families, and other groups on
topics such as antenatal care, knowledge of pregnancy danger signs and
appropriate actions to take and postnatal care
4.
To
work with health care team members in the health facilities to assess, plan,
implement and evaluate patient care plans
5.
To
work with health care team members in the facilities for clinical caring of
patients by providing supportive care to the patients, drug dispensing,
counseling, monitoring, recording and
reporting symptoms and changes in patients conditions and determine when
appropriate actions such as referral should be taken
6.
To
handle and take care of all equipment and drugs in the MCH project and health
facilities and prepare their weekly
and monthly inventory and report
7.
To
maintain weekly and monthly accurate, detailed reports and records for all
the technical activities (facility based and CHWs related) performed and
present in the weekly and monthly meetings
8.
To
support other project activities like
advocacy campaign, workshop, training to carry out and accomplish the overall
project goal
9.
To observe general medical staff standards of
practice
10. To carry out additional related responsibilities
and as assigned by the Project Medical Officer and the Managing Director

Qualifications
|
1.
Diploma
in Nursing with experience in working in resource poor/field setting
particularly managing maternal and/or child health conditions. Midwifery
training is mandatory
2.
Additional
training in community/public health will be added advantage
3.
Recommendable
professional and work ethics and registered with Nursing Council of
Tanganyika or any other recognized legal board
4.
Excellent
communications skills with fluency in both written & spoken English and
Kiswahili
5.
Possess
excellent training, coaching and leadership/organizational skills
6.
Skills
in data management with fluency in Word/Excel/ PowerPoint computer
applications
7.
Team
player, initiative taker, ability to work with minimal supervision, high
degree of personal organization with good attention to detail and ability to
work under pressure
