“Establishing National Carbon Monitoring Centre (NCMC) in Tanzania
” is a three years project implemented by Sokoine University of Agricultureon behalf of the government of United Republic of Tanzania.

The aim of the project is to establish NCMC for the reporting on carbon stocks and their changes as well as coordinating the national MRV-processes for the Government of United Republic of Tanzania. The project is implemented in two phases: the six months inception phase and the 30 months implementation phase.

The project is now inviting suitable qualified Tanzanian citizens to cover the following full time positions for the project implementation phase. "Qualified male and female candidates are equally encouraged to apply. All applications will be treated with the strictest confidence":


  1. Coordinator - National Carbon Monitoring Centre (NCMC) (1 Position).
  2. Senior MRV Officer and Assistant NCMC Coordinator (1 Position).
  3. Senior Safeguards Information System Officer (1 Position).
  4. Chief Technologist (GIS and Remote Sensing Officer 2 Positions).
  5. Chief Technologist (Database management, Quality Control and Verification Officer 3 Positions).
  6. Chief Technologist (Safeguards Information System Officer 1 Position).
  7. Chief Technologist (Carbon Project Registry Officer 2 Positions).
  8. Senior Office Management Secretary (Administrative Secretary/Logistical Officer -1 Post).
  9. Driver I cum Office Assistant (1 Post).
  10. Computer Programmer/ Technologist I (Information technologist/ Webmaster -1 Post)

Terms: Contract full time position for one year with possibility for renewal of up to two and a half years (2.5) depending on the performance.

Salary: Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience but within the Firm budget.
