Acacia Mining seeks to employ an experienced IT Section Leader based at Bulyanhulu Mine. This role reports to the Commercial Manager and the role holder will be accountable to provide leadership and services that deliver industry best practices in Information Technology to meet current and future business needs.

This is a permanent role, with the work roster being six weeks on and three weeks off.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Optimize the level of IT services to deliver value
• Deliver adequate IT Services for site departments and units
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
• Maintain core hardware availability
• Oversees all help desk activities at the site level and ensure timely helpdesk calls resolution
• Motivates the team to work together in the most efficient manner
• Maintain network availability (Wired and wireless)
• Implements network security at the site level as established by the corporate team
• Ensure TV System Availability
• End users hardware availability
• Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting site infrastructure
• Works with project teams to help implement Internal Systems
• Ensure Two-Way Radio Communication Availability
• Customers satisfaction on Information Technology services delivery
• Compliance with IT Operational Systems (Helpdesk System, Network Monitoring, E-mail and Internet, Voice Communication Systems, Asset Inventory and Management)
• Prepare timely and accurate weekly/ monthly/ quarterly/ annual reports for the IT department
• Sustainment of mine site Data Centre facilities in conjunction with the Central IMT services team and in accordance with IMT Standard Operating Procedures
• Work with the Central IMT team to ensure services levels are met and comply with IMT standards and procedures
• Ensure that objectives are met by team members
• Completion of performance monitoring and appraisal meetings
• Existence of Development Plans for team members, ensuring that milestones are achieved
• Improvement in Culture Behavioural Gap between the current and desired behaviors of team members
• Improvement in team member and peer feedback

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualification Requirements:

• Advanced Diploma/ Degree in Information Technology
• Masters in Computer Engineering will be advantageous
• Microsoft Certified Solution Expert
• Cisco Certified Network Associate, CompTIA A+, ITIL Certification will be an added advantage

Experience Requirements:

• Must have at least 6 years’ experience in Information Technology, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Technical Skills required: MS Windows Server 2008, MS Windows 7, Active Directory, Exchange Server 2010, Microsoft Office 2010, Symantec Backup, Cisco Networking
