ACTIVIST international is a human right and democracy advocacy organization implementing a democracy and human right program in Africa titled Africa Democracy Program. Other programs implemented by Activist International are Gender Equality, Freedom of Speech, Young Leadership Support Program and Peace Program

ACTIVITS organization is implementing a Democracy and Human Right Program tittled  2015 Tanzania Democracy Support Project (TDSP), this project is aimed to create awareness and civic education to prospective voters and the general public of Tanzania before election and post-election at large. 2015 TDSP shall train intellectual youth and graduates who will help to provide free civic education to public aimed at sensitization and mobilization on their role in the upcoming general election as citizens

Civic and Voter Education Officers shall create a bridge between the project’s objectives and the targeted population by performing all the duties as illustrated in the job description below. Only the successful applicants shall be contacted for the job after verification, authentication and certification.

Position Description

Qualifications
·    Certificate, diploma and or bachelor in sociology, community development, education, public relation, marketing, economics and business, law and economic development.
·    Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
·    All applicants must provide proof of computer  knowledge
·    Fluency  in Swahili and English, both written and spoken
·    Demonstrated ability to interact with persons from a variety of professional discipline
·    Superb knowledge of and practical experience with communities in rural and urban areas.
·    Able to provide strong leadership and representation with staff, donors, partners, European union and Ministry of constitution and law of Tanzania.
·     Planning and Organizing: Ability to establish priorities and to plan, organize, coordinate and monitor own work plan and provide advice and guidance to others
·    Troubleshooting: Ability to proactively solve problems
·    Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with subordinates and supervisors

Responsibilities

·    Providing voter’s civic education to the target community
·    Distributing hard copies of the proposed constitution to the public
·    Working closely with the district and regional government in the provision of civic education to secondary schools, colleges and universities.
·    Support 2015 TDSP and counterparts in its efforts to improve civic/voter education strategies, its content and methodologies.
·    Support 2015TDSP management in procurement processes for civic/voter education related goods and services
·    Organizing awareness campaign outreach meetings in rural areas
