Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences is inviting applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to be considered for employment to fill the following vacant posts:-
4. SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER II – 1 POST
a) Required Qualification
Holder of BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and must has been registered as Professional Engineer by Engineers Registration Board.
b) Experience: Four (4) years working experience in a similar post or 6 years working experience after the first degree.
c) Duties and Responsibilities
i) Responsible for maintenance of all equipment, building and other infrastructure

ii) Plans procurement of necessary spares and equipment
iii) Advises for planning and procurement of necessary spares and equipment
iv)  Develops and modifies structural buildings
v) Develops and modifies technical tasks as required
vi)  Undertake maintenance of all equipment, building and other infrastructure
vii) Participate in tender evaluations related to construction works
viii) Carries out independently, specified routine technical tasks, which require technical knowledge and skills
ix) Implements specified maintenance plans of equipment, buildings, and other facilities
x) Prepares budgets for specific tasks and projects for implementation
xi) Plans maintenance schedules for equipment and building
xii) Prepare pre-acceptance check lists of new equipment for verifying specifications
xiii) Plans maintenance schedules for all equipment and buildings for the University
xiv) Provides professional advice and guidance to University equipment users
xv) Participates in formulation of policies related to maintenance of University equipment and buildings
xvi) Participates in installation of machinery and equipment
xvii) Performs any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor

 Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates- All applicants.
 Computer Certificates where applicable.
 Professional Certificates from respective boards where applicable.
 One recent passport size picture and copy of birth certificate.
v) Form IV and Form VI result slips are strictly not accepted. Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV will necessitate to legal action.
vi) Applicants currently employed in the public service should route their application letters through their respective employers.
vii) Applicants should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts.
viii) Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) or National Acreditation Council for Technical Education (NACTE) for foreign non degree certificates
ix) Women are highly encouraged to apply.
