The Forestry Development Trust is funded by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation (GCF) and the UK’s DFID and aims at helping to create a vibrant and sustainable forestry sector in Tanzania through improved supply of wood to meet national demand especially from small scale tree planters.
This role provides a great opportunity for an experienced Finance and Administration Director to support the work of a dynamic organization.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Significant operational and management experience in the key areas of the role (finance, HR, contracting) with demonstrable understanding of broader operational areas;
Educated to at least degree level, ideally with a professional finance qualification, and a minimum of seven years post qualification experience of which at least five years is at a senior management level.
Successful track record of managing, training and supporting staff, and influencing, giving professional advice to and building effective and productive working relationships with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili, plus excellent numerical and financial skills.
Willingness to be based in Iringa, with regular travel to within the Southern Highlands
