Position: Nurse II – (2 Posts)

Reports to: Manager Finance and Administration
Contract Type Contract for an Unspecified Period of Time
Location: Dodoma and Mtwara Branches

Job Purpose:
To provide safe and professional nursing services to staff and specified members of
their families.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Assisting the Medical Officer in attending to routine and emergency
treatment;
b) Dispensing medicines and drugs and giving instructions on their use, as
prescribed by the Medical Officer;
c) Initiating requisition for medicines and other medical supplies;
d) Supervising Ward Attendants and other support staff at the dispensary;
e) Providing advice on health matters to staff and members of their families;
f) Maintaining hygienic and safe working environment in compliance with
health care procedures;
g) Maintaining reports of patients’ medical histories and monitoring changes in
their condition;
h) Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution;
b) Must be registered with Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council;
c) At least three years of post-qualification working experience from a
recognised hospital;
d) Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
e) Excellent verbal communication and report writing skills;
f) Ability to demonstrate professional ethics and confidentiality;
g) Customer service skills.

Position: Medical Doctor II – (3 Posts)

Reports to: Manager Finance and Administration
Contract Type Contract for an Unspecified Period of Time
Location: Arusha, Mtwara and Dodoma Branches.

Job Purpose:
To provide effective diagnostic, therapeutic and health services to staff and specified
members of their families.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Providing leadership to the branches’ clinics staff and overseeing
implementation of action plans;
b) Examining, diagnosing and providing treatment and counselling services to
patients;
c) Maintaining accurate patient’s records and preparing periodic reports for
submission to management;
d) Planning procurement of medical items and equipment;

e) Maintaining updated records of medical inventory and producing monthly
reconciliation statements;
f) Authorizing requisition for and issuance of medical items;
g) Undertaking on–the-job training of new employees within the branches’
clinics;
h) Monitoring and appraising performance of direct reports within the branches
clinics;
i) Providing support to the Manager Medical Services in monitoring provision
of medical insurance services;
j) Advising management on medical referral cases;
k) Supporting the Manager Medical Services in organizing and delivering
sensitization programmes and seminars on healthy life styles and HIV/AIDS
pandemic;
l) Performing other related duties as assigned by superiors.
Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Degree in Medicine from an accredited institution;
b) Must be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika;
c) Three years of relevant work experience from a reputable institution;
d) Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
e) Excellent verbal communication and report writing skills;
f) Ability to demonstrate professional ethics and observe confidentiality;
g) Must have counselling and advisory skills;
h) Good customer service skills.

Position: Laboratory Technician II - (3 Posts)

Reports to: Manager Medical Services/Manager Finance &
Administration.
Contract Type Contract for an Unspecified Period of Time
Location: Head Office, Mtwara and Dodoma Branches

Job Purpose:
To carry out routine and analytical medical laboratory tests on Bank of Tanzania
staff and specified members of their families.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Planning and implementing laboratory activities and advising the medical
officer on specific matters relating to the operations of the laboratory;
b) Collecting and performing tests/investigation on body fluids, such as blood
and urine, using microscope or automatic analysers to detect abnormalities or
diseases;
c) Analysing reports of tests and recording test data to issue reports for the
attention of the Medical Officer;
d) Setting up, operating, adjusting, cleaning, maintaining and performing minor
repairs on medical laboratory equipment;
e) Initiating requisitions and keeping inventory of supplies and stocks on hand
for laboratory use;
f) Keeping accurate records of all the medical tests done;
g) Performing other related duties as may be assigned by the head of division.
Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution;
b) At least three (3) years of relevant work experience from a reputable
organization;

c) Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
d) Excellent verbal communication and report writing skills;
e) Ability to demonstrate professional ethics and observe confidentiality;
i) Good customer service skills.
